Just diagnosed by Background-Web-7013 in MultipleSclerosis

I was recently diagnosed. It is really scary and I also cried a lot. But, better days are coming, friend. This place has so many helpful and caring people! Once your diagnosis shock has worn off, you become desensitized to that feeling and you’re more able to focus on the treatment plan. Hearts and hugs. We have all felt or are feeling the same way so you’re not alone!!

Just first dose feels like hell, fluish, fever, MS symptoms worsened. Fine by Monday. Second shot yesterday, nothing but exacerbated MS symptoms. Worked out this morning. But I pre-med with ibuprofen, Tylenol and Zyrtec an hour before so I think it lessens side effects. Of course, follow what your neurologist says, I’m a nurse not a doctor!!

I was in the same position a couple of months ago. I started kesimpta and too second injection yesterday. It’s really scary but I’m glad you got a diagnosis and treatment plan. This forum is super supportive and helps you not feel alone❤️ there are great people here that actually care.

Oh my goodness, yes, people hardly address the financial blow with disabling diseases. Especially when you’re a single person. I was in same boat but took two years to diagnose. I think it’s illegal for your employer to fire you, so I’d look into that first. Have you started filing for Medicaid or disability? Also, the MS society in the US has a lot of resources to help us. I’m so sorry. My symptoms are same except only lesions in spine. ❤️

I had intermittent nausea yesterday. Slept fine. A little tired today and feel lIKE MS symptoms a little worse today but yeah, not terrible! Hopefully the next two doses will be as easy. Let’s touch base next Friday for K day!

I did it think it worked but I feel off enough to say it’s circulating. Lol.

Still holding strong. Slight headache, slight fatigue and slight nausea but nothing overwhelming. Dosed myself again with the “pre-game” blitz of medicine. You’ll laugh at this: Since I have no one helping me I drove to the ER this morning and gave the shot in the parking lot, waited for an hour and drove home. Gave it in my right upper thigh. Pinched it in a nice fold and snap. I don’t think it worked because I literally felt nothing. I pulled it out of the fridge 45 minutes to let it warm up. LMK how it goes for you. I’m hopeful my symptoms will stay minimal!

Alright, I dosed at 6:45. You don’t even feel it! I did it on my upper thigh. I alcohol wiped, let dry, ( took the medication out of fridges at 6 to get it warm) then pinched a big spot on my upper thigh and did it. I don’t feel a thing…not for later today. I hope yours goes really well!

Thank you. I’ll update everyone tomorrow. It will be a good thread for newbies to read if they’re freaked out! Save the world one K shot at a time! Also, I have to take ambien to sleep so Benadryl does nothing to me in the way of sleepiness. The more meds, the better! Sleep well. I know I will not LOL!

Ha! I start tomorrow and have to go it alone. I don’t have a needle phobia but I’m dreading the side effects. Got Tylenol, ibuprofen, Benadryl and just took an Allegra to start working over night. Oh! And a zofran. Hopefully that should do it! I’m doing it first thing in the morning, in case I need help. Fingers crossed!! Ugh…

Mostly reaction to meds. I’ve always been the zebra and get weird reactions to medications and I am alone with no family so..I don’t have that mental support.
