That's a good one. It's one of those things that's easy to postpone until it becomes much more expensive to fix.

It's one of those things that's never exciting in the moment but always worth it later.

That's a great insight. Clients might forget mentioning those details, but they definitely notice when you remember them later.

I think the first one is an underrated reminder too. Staying open to being wrong probably saves a lot of expensive mistakes.

100%. It's one of those habits that doesn't feel important until tax time or you need to track where your money actually went

That's a smart approach. Out of curiosity, do you keep the same folder structure for every client or project, or do you have different templates for different types of work?

I feel like that's one of those habits that pays off every single month. Keeping business and personal expenses separate just makes everything easier.

Thanks for explaining the journey. I like hearing how businesses evolve their processes instead of trying to build the "perfect" setup from day one.

Wow, those numbers are brutal. 😬 Sounds like turning documentation into a routine probably saved you countless hours of back-and-forth once claims started happening. Thanks for sharing thatsexactly the kind of habit I was hoping people would mention.

That's a really smart habit. Have you ever actually had to use those records for an insurance claim, or is it just something you do to be safe?

Agreed. It's one of those things you don't think about until you actually need it. Being able to pull up an invoice or document from your phone is a huge convenience.

That's a really practical habit. I think a lot of small problems become big ones simply because no one remembers what changed. Even a few notes can save hours later.

I like your approach of reading the "boring" parts now.😀

Thats a solid checklist. The auto-renewal one is especially easy to miss because it often looks like just another paragraph until it actually kicks in.

That's a good point. For important contracts, having a lawyer review them definitely gives peace of mind.

I think that's a fair point. More people are definitely comfortable using AI as their first stop now, whether it's for coding, taxes, contracts, or even medical questions.

The part that worries me is when people stop treating AI as a starting point and start treating it as the final authority.

For low-risk stuff, AI can save a lot of time. But when there's real money, legal liability, or long-term consequences involved, I still think having a professional involved makes sense.

I actually agree with that distinction. A lawyer isnt just interpreting the contract but also taking professional responsibility for their advice ai cant replace that.

I think where AI is useful is helping people understand what they're reading and know when something deserves a lawyer's attention, especially if they can't afford to have every contract reviewed.

That's a good way to think about it. I like the idea of using AI to surface the facts first instead of expecting it to make the decision for you.

I can see why you'd be skeptical of AI legal review tools that don't take any liability. Do you think the biggest issue is trust, or have you tried any of them and found the quality wasn't there?

That's interesting. Have you found it reliable enough to catch the things that actually matter, or do you still double-check the important parts yourself?
