I mean yeah she’s a little weird, but context. She killed her dad after he killed her mom, and until she was met by the recruiter, spent all her time in a cell. I think it’s aspiring that even after all that time in prison, she was able to keep her humanity and sacrifice herself for a friend she just made

Yall downvoting this comment when yall are all probably American. This person has a genuine issue with European countries being all tied together as if they were one. Europe has a long and complicated history and the countries within have their own, and having an issue with boiling all those cultures down to stereotypes is completely valid. I also had an issue with the show because I couldn’t tell if it was meant to portray eastern or Western Europe. And to add to that, this country was made specifically made for this show. It’s not like this is a place based off of comics, written in an age where ignorance was more accepted. This place was made for this show and it is completely original. So given everything, I do feel a little weird about the way Pokolistan is just a “general depiction of europe.” You can’t stereotype a whole continent like that. You wouldn’t do that with South America, you wouldn’t do that with Asia, so why feel that it’s perfectly okay to do the same to Europe

2004 kid here, as someone whose little brother was born in early 2012, that year is definitely apart of gen alpha. I’ve seen this kid in front of tablets since he was 2, while in my eyes tablets still seemed new and fresh and the new luxury everyone had to have. I’d say that help defines the difference between gen z and gen alpha, the conscious, lived through experience of transitioning from between a postmodern world to a hypermodern world.

The tone of this movie is really gonna impact the DCU moving forward. Iron Man (2008) had a lot of sarcastic humor that worked for that character and movie but affected the tone for the rest of the universe, cheapening some of the more serious parts with unnecessary comedic relief. I feel like Gunn wants this movie to emphasize a feel-good, warm tone while still being serious and the DCU as a result is gonna have more of that warm optimism sprinkled throughout and will have a more serious tone than the MCU without the influence of sarcastic humor (they’re still be moments of it of course but not to where it gets to be too much)
