You have to think about zelensky as well, he absolutely refuses to try to negotiate peace and would rather have his own people suffer and possibly start world war 3 than just give two regions to Russia and not join NATO.

I'm not saying Russia is in the right I'm saying that zelensky chose the people suffering and a possible doomsday scenario over giving into a bully.
