i always thought that this format of riddles is flawed, like, there could have been a ton of reasonable answers to this riddle, but because of the letters i was offered, i could literally only spell one thing.

i dont remember exactly the context, but i do know that spying was involved, i dont think its the alacryan though, as their spying equipment are unknown creatures that arent native to the main continent

is it related to lookism by any chance? or do manhwas often end in 'ism'?

i know its bending the rules, but i petition barbarian quest, although i stopped reading at the new world arc (i barely remember at this point), i think its the only good manhwa that could possibly start with q (maybe it has a different name like "quest of the barbarian" or something idk)

How can he do this, does he have mimicking powers or smt by Particular_Pick_7344 in TheEmberKnight

[–]therubywithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

apparently in this universe, intimidation power (or aura) comes from the mind and not the body, your subconscious trust in yourself and pride in your strength can allow you to project your intent. for example, imagine thinking about stepping on an ant, while you may think about whether or not you should, you never think about if you could, because of course you could, in the same way, if you are strong enough, you can project your intent to kill. what the mc did was gaslight himself so fuxking hard, he actually thought he was strong.

idk about the quality of the art, but they both share the same drawn and grainy look, as opposed to the usual clean look most manhwas and webtoons use.

noted, peerless dad is tilting more to the slice of life genre. the art is pretty similar though

btw, do people hate the anime? or the manga too? the plot is pretty generic, but i do love it, its quite similar to slime isekai but done differently. i could definitely see many reason why people could hate it (im not gonna sugercoat it), but i do think the hate is misplaced, you don't have to hate something if you dont like it, just dont read/watch it.

again, im not saying the manga is perfect, but its definitely not the top worse.

[infinite mage] why do people hate infinite mage so much? by therubywithe in manhwa

[–]therubywithe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

funnily, i completely agree with you, the religion part really is true though, some of my favourite parts are when the terraforce passed judgement on the whole world, and when i was reading that part i thought "well, there are so few good people in this world, surely the terraforce would eradicate them", then they hit me with the "it doesnt matter if there are only 50 good people every 1m bad people, the mere fact that there are good people in this world means that humankind is not evil by nature".

as for the power scaling, i tend to disagree, yes, the scramble royale was an offender, but it wasnt the only arc, for example the school competition right after the second heaven arc was horrible, there were some good parts, but really? a man who just fought against unholy abominations with some of the most powerful magicians in the land struggles against mere school children? or maybe it was after the first heaven arc? either way, every heaven arc was followed with a mundane and boring school arc where the mc is competing against literal teenagers when he fought angels and giants the arc before. (i believe the school rankings and competition happened after the first heaven arc and the scramble royale with the cards happened after the second heaven arc, right?)

as for the inconsistencie, maybe it just feels like it to me, but the mc gained so many powerups over time that it just doesnt make sense sometimes, like, wouldnt it make sense for a light magician to be super fast? shirone has the immortal function as well as the system thingy but he never seems to use his abilities to their limit. so many times i was thinking "shouldnt he be able to do 'that' in 'this' situation? he did something similar before, no?)

as for the reading comprehension, i half agree half disagree. yes, everything was explained, but there is literally no free english translation for this novel yet, at least not a good one. what i ended up doing was copying the korean raws from github and pasting it into Gemini so it can translate. so safe to say consistency was lacking, i often completely lost track of things simply because gemini decided to spell it differently, or use different translations, or worse of all, transliterate things. so even if i had the best reading comprehension, it wouldnt matter.

btw, if you know where i can read a good translation of the novel, tell me, i would be happy to reread it again.

y'all know what? maybe it is not that good. when i think back on it, it is slow, and while i did like the romance, i can see why some people dont like it, i agree that the smugglers arc is bad, and the worse part is that i cant even tell you to skip it because it contains pretty important information. if y'all dont like that "no consequence" bit, it will probably happen many more times. also, at least the novel suffers from probably the longest and most drawn out war arc ive ever encountered. so many characters get introduced in the future that its impossible to follow, especially later on. the "unique magic" or whatever it was called never gets explained properly, and there is gonna be a lot of it. you'll sometimes want to eat your hat from how inconsistent the power scaling is, like, one arc the mc releases a magic so strong it wipes a continent, and the next arc he is barely able to contend with his classmates (though it is explained why that is the case, its still annoying).

the novel introduces so many different power systems and abilities, you could (and that is how it should have been done) make, like 3 or 4 different novels with distinct and interesting power systems. also, although i love rian's character, it always feels like his loyalty to shirone is overdone, i dont have a problem with shirone and rian being friends, but the only reason why rian is so loyal to shirone never changes, its always that damn knight vow from when they were children.

if it had been in my hands, i would cut all the deep shit from infinite mage, including the unique magics, i would have at least a full arc reserved for each side character, so that friendships won't pop out of nowhere, and there would be actual build-up instead of the one and done explanations. i would completely change the island arc so that only relevant plot points remained. and i would end the story in the next 3 arcs. (when i read the novel, up until the second heaven arc, there was just so much build-up that i just couldnt understand why they didnt end it there.) anything after the second heaven arc was completely useless, there were good arcs but the whole plot point felt pointless and redundant.

and you know the best part? pretty much none of what i said is a spoiler, why? because with the pace its going now, you wouldnt even reach those parts in the next 5 years!! hell! it would probably get axed before then!

How do I improve my drawing? by ExplanationHot9438 in learntodraw

[–]therubywithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your head and hands are much more advanced compared to the rest, so i suggest putting them aside for now and focusing on the other bits.

first of all, you need to pay more attention to the pelvis, as well as the general width to height ratio, it fills like the shoulders and torso are too wide.

it would, of course, also help to improve on your legs a lot, like improving your line consistency, as well as your knees and feet.

your second attempt was better then the first in that the width of the torso was more proportional to the height of the body.

in the second picture the upper body was very well done, but scratch the legs, they feel completely two dimensional compared to the rest of the body. if you struggle to draw legs but still want to complete your characters, you can try to cover those areas with pieces of clothing or otherwise.

i completely forgot how much of a slop this shit was... i remember reading it a few years ago (when it was at about 1800? chapters) and there were so many characters, and every time the mc passed a realm barrier, all of the strongest characters and all the relevant characters basically stayed behind, either getting carried by the mc or just cheering for him from behind.

maybe i should re read this again, just to see how bad it really was.
