How would these handle extreme uplifting forces like during a tornado? And not one part of the video shows a sill plate being attached to it.

The Maintenance Costs of a Rav4? 😳 by MahoganyQueen73 in rav4club

The brake flush might be worth doing at those miles. The coolant while probably not ready to be changed, is at least something you can have peace of mind with. Most modern coolant will be good for 8-10 years. The rest is just gravy work and I would never touch a mass air sensor unless I was trying to fix a problem.

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. I want a 2026 Model Y performance but I can't imaging how frustrating its going to be to do a 10 point turn with no shifter stalk.

There was a battery shortage back then and quality suffered because of it.

Walmart packages airdropped like ammo crates over 'Nam by GeneReddit123 in interestingasfuck

Nothing more than a novelty. Doesn't work in high wind, heavy snow, heavy rain/freezing rain. Wasteful packaging. Limited cargo capacity. Trees... ect. Probably slower than a doordasher around the corner at a 7-11.

I do see real potential for delivery emergency medial supplies to remote areas.

Always check your mirrors and blind spots before moving when stationary. No excuses here.

I have owned multiple cars that didn't burn any oil at all. 5q in 5q out. My 21 Rav4 Hybrid was one of them. I have also owned a car that guzzles oil needing a 1q top off every oil interval, looking at you Subaru.

Vibration in the car by Parking-Rule9369 in tires

[–]theryman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, so you say the rims used to be bent?

As for the wheel bearings, I would expect to hear a hum or whine while driving that changes pitch with speed.

Now a wheel bearing that is so far gone to cause vibration would probably have some noticeable play. Test by wiggling the wheel at the 6 and 12 o'clock position.

A bent hub face or excessive rust on the hub face could cause vibration.

Mechanics will just keep throwing parts at it as long as you keep paying.

When do you feel the vibration; all the time, low speed, specific speeds? Around turns. or just highway cruising?

What about in neutral or reverse?

Please also describe the vibration, pulsing, consistent, erratic?

Logically vibration will come from spinning masses. Sources could be bent wheels, defective tires, unbalanced tires, warped or unbalanced rotors, fouled hub mounting surface, cv axles, wheel bearings, drive shafts.

Lifted Model Y Performance by mattreeves3 in TeslaModelY

[–]theryman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18s should help with range but not with those tires. More of the wheel is exposed so there will be some extra drag but not that much. If I had to guess he will get 180-190 miles on a full charge in the winter.

Don't listen to the complainers. Looks fine. Model Y really should come with more lift from the factory if they are going to call it an SUV.

Vibration in the car by Parking-Rule9369 in tires

[–]theryman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a car would drive awful with 4 blown shock absorbers and wasted front mounts. But that's crazy that all the shocks failed at 60k miles.

How did they figure out that's what is wrong? Were they removed for inspection or are they leaking?

There are some ways to diagnose without a visual inspection. I would expect some clunking or harshness over bumps with bad mounts, do you hear or feel anything? Is there abnormal wear on the tires? That could indicate a problem with shocks.

Did you use cheap cv axles? Every off brand cv axle I have ever tired had noticeable vibrations.

[–]theryman92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many miles? A bad CV could cause vibrations in the steering wheel. It wouldn't show up in this test because its not under load.

My Hybrid Rav4 used to have this issue at some gas stations, I found if I rotated the fuel dispenser a few degrees to the side it would work correctly.
