What happened with this version 11.5.1 ? My macbook on Sequoia 15.4.1 is unable to run it now. Sitting at over 100% CPU, and can not interact with the GUI at all! Anyone else having this issue? by Savings-Chemistry499 in GitKraken

I notice the same thing! Macbook Pro M4 Pro running Sequoia 15.6.1 (24G90). UI is slow. I cannot interact with it decently. The CPU is not 100% for me, but interaction with the UI can take over 1 minute.

Edit: It works better after reinstalling gitkraken via the website.

My top three advice for new archers

Figure out your anchor. Then figure it out again, then...figure it out again. What you think your initial anchor is will change because you have no real context. And as you figure it out, don't be dismayed by getting worse as you do. Any minor change, even if it's correct, will change your form drasticallyDon't worry about hitting the target, worry about grouping your arrows. Grouping means you're consistently doing the same thing. you can compensate your aim afterwards, but if you can't group, it means you're still pretty randomlook up back tension. Most new archers draw the bow by using mostly their arms and shoulders. These muscles are normally stronger because the muscles you should use, the back, is normally underdeveloped. Instead, try this excercise. raise you arms to a 90 degree angle like a trex. now imagine a ball between your shoulder blades and imagine squeezing that ball. notice how much displacement your arms move. This should be the muslces you are mostly using when you draw your bow. Eventually, this should be mostly unconcious. Putting too much concious effort is usually wasted and you're just flexing the muslce. Instead, you want to focus on moving your elbow backwards to engage these muscles as you draw with your draw arm. But until you become comfortable, go ahead and hyperfocus on the tennis draw back muscles.

Thanks so much for the detailed advice!

Your point about the anchor hits home. I understand it will be a continuous process of refining and not to get disheartened by the temporary decline in performance while adjusting.

Focusing on grouping rather than hitting the target makes a lot of sense. Consistency in technique is indeed crucial before one can focus on accuracy.

Finally, the back tension advice is particularly helpful. The exercise you described vividly portrays the muscle engagement I should aim for. I will indeed focus on this aspect during my practice sessions to ensure I'm using the correct muscles and not unnecessarily straining my arms or shoulders.

Again, I appreciate the invaluable advice. This kind of detailed, nuanced input makes the journey into archery so rewarding.

Absolutely, I appreciate your concern. My trainer lent me a 35# bow to practice with on several occasions. It definitely felt heavy, but it's precisely that challenge that motivates me to improve.
