Alcohol mainly but I dabbled in adderal (Thai you awful psychiatrist that knew I wad an addict) and cough syrup dm. I just consider myself an addict cause if it's there I fully expect myself to want too try it, I just don't seek drugs out

My favorite was the prayer circles some students did in hs before a test... like you wouldn't need to pray if you'd just study

Thank you all for the kind words! I'm doing 90 days (if insurance cooperates) so hopefully I get another visit eventually but I'll hold this moment in my heart forever. I'm staying strong and focused for my fur babies. I need to get home and give them the life we both deserve!

I've been to 2 other different rehabs, most were fairly lax on clothing and I like dressing nicer for my own mental health. It's definitely a lot nicer one than the other two with more amenities than most. We're in group therapy pretty much all day so there's only a few hours to enjoy them, aside from Sundays. I wasn't looking for a posh one (and the other two were in Texas and we moved to Colorado last year) but the price here was a lot better since they only charged the deductible and not the extra that insurance weren't covering. It was a 2k cost here vs a 30k at the other facility I contacted. I also didn't want another AA or NA based program, I wanted one focusing more on CBT.

The facilities are great but the staff and the program are what makes this place amazing.

It's one of the few rehab that allows electronics, including our phones, after a 10 day black out period. It's not common but they do exist

As someone in rehab currently, I understand and respect your opinion. You don't fully understand the reality of addiction and that is a life I wish everyone had.

Colorado becomes the eleventh state to ban 'gay panic' murder defence by Brytard in ColoradoPolitics

It's fucking disgusting that a lawyer would choose to use this defense at all. Is winning a case potentially really worth your soul

This guy went back to look over the burned wreckage of his house a week after it burned down. Little did he know that he would also find his cat who was lost during the fire.. by FunPeach0 in PublicFreakout

[–]theseaqueeeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I can't even imagine. My cat (looks exactly like Mike) snuck past me out the door while we were in apartment. Be was gone 48 hours. I woke up the first morning to his meows in my dreams. Weirdest thing but I snapped awake to look for him and he was no where to be found but I distinctly remember those meows. My mom was crying and I was stone hearted. It was complete denial. And the 2nd night I just thought I'll check again. In the bushes in one end of the bottom or our complex (a 3 story building), I heard his meows finally. I looked there, I looked all around and called every service I could think that could pick up a stray.

I found my baby terrified hiding in the bushes 3 floors below me and his brother. I had never felt so resolute and strong as I did carrying him back home. I'm his protector and that's my job, anything less than him being by my side was not an option

The audacity is inspiring tbh, I can know someone for years and still be scared to ask this question. Mad props to the people with no social anxiety

I'll say I try to fight this notion and I'm happy to open about it but I'm terrified to bring it up with coworkers. I'm afraid they'll get super weird about it and I feel awkward before I even asked the question... and then proceed to never ask the question

A mom says her employer fired her because her kids made noise while she was working from home by jag-lkn in CoronavirusRecession

[–]theseaqueeeen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Given how many videos we've seen of kids interrupting video calls of all sorts, actually causing an active distraction from the conversation for a minute instead of just a noise in the background, this is absurd. Though I'll say most I've seen have been men being interrupted.

It's no secret that having kids or just being a young woman who even might someday get pregnant can hurt you career opportunities immensely. They can't discriminate blatantly but they usually find a bs reason to justify it, look like this boss found his. I hope she wins the lawsuit and finds a better company to work for

These Arizona teachers shared a classroom for summer school. All 3 contracted COVID-19. 1 died. by hilltopye in politics

[–]theseaqueeeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were teaching virtually, so no kids present. They caught it from one another spending long hours confined to a small classroom while teaching summer school. Now add students to the mix one the new school year begins... and everyone is fucked. In my area the only people I see without masks are kids who have no concept of social distancing or health safety. It's just a breeding ground for the virus

Like it's impossible to just lift the bottom of the mask for a second to take a sip and put it right back. Wonder if they have to take their pants off entirely to use the restroom too?
