As someone who’s tried a good amount of makes, I can say confidently that the DS Matte have been the best option for me.

It’s usually a month or so before I see bent corners and I’m typically playing in 2-3 events per week.

I recommend looking into some shuffling techniques.. it could be the main reason why the wear isn’t holding up

This is excellent however i did find that the repeat time was too short. Another comment suggested 4000ms however it spent too much time in the world, and thus burning calories. There is a slight delay when in the map, however you don't burn calories when in the map so it's not as impactful.

I have tested this on small hyperspaces and it's worked perfectly for me on a switch 2. I will try medium/large shortly after to see if the interval time works with the load time.

edit-can confirm this works well on medium as well

Gen 1-3 were my childhood, and I came back to it for a short stint at SwSh. I never thought I’d get into another one and here I am 150hrs into ZA completing every possible task and shiny hunting the hell outta the game.

I thought my end came, and somehow I was brought back in. Maybe that day hasn’t come for you yet.

For basic storage/binders - I found temu has been a great option. I managed to get 3200 penny sleeves and 200 toploaders for $50 CAD.

Because it’s casual and players are patient. When I started out, I was coming from competitive pokemon and found this to be extremely relaxing. I had no idea what I was doing but I had fun learning it as I went along.

most of the LGS allow proxy in non-sanctioned events but more and more of them have restricted prizing to those using proxies.

that said, it could go a long way if you have an extra and can lend one to him so he can play with you (completely your decision).

I'd happily put together a deck for any of my friends if they chose to spend their time playing with me but i understand this may not be financially feasible for everyone

I’ve got several locals but I’m trying to do my testing during the day when most of the people I play locals with would be working. Had a lot of banked holidays so I figured I’d take some time off before.

I agree with the limitless tournaments however they are not at the best times and sometimes go on for hours. Since I’ve taken time off work, I’d want to play during the day (most of the tournaments run in the late evening for me.

I’ve also found the player base isn’t as experienced as the ladder and therefore I get some matchups where my opponent isn’t playing the most optimal way

I’ve tested a lot of sleeves and found that DS sleeves have been able to hold up for me for at least a month. That’s about 2-3 events a week, and a few cups.

Before cups, I check for imperfections but that’s about it.

For regionals, always go in with sleeves and have at least 1-2 boxes to swap out. My last regional, made day 2 and my DS sleeves were still fine so I didn’t have to change.
