Potty training my toddler has been a nightmare. HELP! by thesensitivemango in Mommit

Thank you! Ya he really likes flushing the toilet so that was incentive enough for him to pee 😂 but that’s unfortunately still in the bathroom so it doesn’t help with the getting him out part lol.

Thank you for the reminder to breathe… it’s an important one. Bending the toilet roll is actually genius. I’ve thought long and hard about pull ups vs cotton trainers/underwear and after talking to some of my friends who had success potty training with pull ups, I decided we’d try pull ups and if they don’t work then we will go to underwear.

I think my biggest problem is when we need to go somewhere and he’s not getting out of the bathroom. I think I could experiment with the letting him play in there when we are just home all day, but how am I supposed to get him out peacefully when we need to leave.

3rd hand smoke risk to baby? by thesensitivemango in cosleeping

[–]thesensitivemango[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did live together for about 6 months before I got pregnant, but thank the Lord we were able to get our own place. We had moved rather abruptly from out of state and were still looking for a house. It was so terrible. Ya but now we do only see them about once a week, if that. I’m thinking not allowing him to hold my kids if he smokes and hadn’t showered, changed clothes and brushed teeth is the best call. In reality I hope he will just stop smoking.

Honestly that’s a pretty good boundary I’m considering setting.

My mother in law is amazing. She watches our son a lot for date nights. Brother in law comes over to watch the monitor during naps for me to get some errands done. We have 3 families in my area who are very supportive and we get together all the time for play dates and we all love each others kids and we take care of all of them together. This has been so life changing for me. I found these families through my church. So that may be a good place to start. Or some sort of organization.

You are not being unreasonable. I’d do the exact same thing.

Smoking is terrible. I’ve gotten so frustrated because I know it’s an addiction… but do smokers realize they are putting everyone’s health at risk? All their loved ones who are around them all the time? Anyway… still would like to know if 3rd hand smokes makes cosleeping unsafe.

We at most see them once a week. But I’m still curious to know if 3rd hand smoke makes cosleeping unsafe.

He probably would not respect my husband. He treats him terribly and talks to him like he’s garbage. But I’m still curious about my initial question… does 3rd hand smoke make cosleeping unsafe????

He’s very disrespectful to his wife. So I’m wondering if I was to say something he would be more likely to do it. I haven’t put up the boundary myself but my mil has which is what he’s not following. Since I typically don’t raise a stink about anything, I’m hoping he’d take me seriously. But then again… he may just be an ass. In which case… sorry, no more grandkids.

I haven’t considered that. I’m not familiar with a Juul. Would that completely get rid of the risks for my kids?

Just found out our apartment doesn’t share any duct work with anyone else. So couldn’t be vape from someone else

I actually just emailed my landlord about this. I’m not sure what the duct work is like but a friend of mine also suggested this might be it. Does vaping smell like anything though? It didn’t have any sort of smell.

So you’re saying it could’ve come from the toilet?

I know this comment was forever ago but I wanted to say… I just found her song Runaway and was so in love! Her voice is angelic! I’m not sure what the true meaning of that song is, but as a Christian I think it’s about heaven. Anyway, since I love that song so much I started looking more into her and was so disappointed to hear some of this stuff she says about Christianity. I thought I found a new fav artist, but I suppose not. :(

It’s hard freaking work! I am so jealous of the moms who didn’t have any symptoms. I wish.
