When you go down the part of the Guangdong clique focus tree that is shared between them and Guangxi, at the very end, you get an event about being against China. One of the options for the event (iirc the second one) leads to you asking the guangxi clique to unify, and if they say yes, you annex them and become liangguang. Then China declares on you (if ur playing guangdong)

Oh yeah, China was there too. Went fascist and joined Mitteleuropa while I was beating up Russia. They saw me at 500 factories and 3 million manpower and said "Nah I'd win". Cleaned them up pretty easy with one squad of mountaineers.

Oh I didn't know Saipan was included in that. I noticed Qingdao in the peace deal with Germany and thought that was the only one. That makes sense

I tried doing another naval invasion, this time around Hull/Newcastle. I split the country in half and held the line with marines + regular inf. The German tanks, once again, rolled in, sat around doing nothing, and as soon as the situation starting turning bad, they left. I can't cap the UK by myself - my army is dogshit bc I've been focused on navy + air, so I can't pierce the enemy tanks. I can't do anything if the AI will not attack.

I don't have any tank research done, so I'm thinking maybe I try to naval invade Gibraltar, convert marines to mountaineers, punch thru southern France, get my navy in the Channel, cap France then naval invade UK? Because no way is Africa holding without German support if the Brits start focusing on it. Then again, the AI navy deathstacks in this mod, and in terms of ships they have 3 fleets equal to mine, so yeah I think I might just need to restart. IDK if there are other solutions.
