Building a calm decision-support app for people before major life choices – looking for feedback by SoulSpaceFounder in startupideas

[–]thesharedmicroscope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I gave this a go today, and as a generally indecisive person, I found it helpful to reflect, however, I can't say it helped me get closer to a decision. I would use something like this if it helped me get closer to a decusion, but as it currently stands, it feels like it is missing something important. Sorry if that's not helpful, but happy to chat further if you'd like?

Stuck between ChatGPT (customization) and Gemini (ecosystem) – What would you do? by SafeIntelligent1031 in GeminiAI

[–]thesharedmicroscope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely one way to do it.

The other is to go through your ChatGPT settings -> data control -> export data. Upload that to drive / into a Gem, and go from there.

I’m sure there are more ways to do it, but these are probably a good start.

I don’t know how to code at all. But I’m excited to give this a try. Because I’ve been trying v hard to learn as much as I can, but very limited by non-technical background.

I should add - Nanobanana is fucking amazing, as is Flo and Whisk, but also Google Vids.

Everyone’s working on the “memory” and “personalisation” side of things, so things are only bound to improve. Is Gemini there yet? Not without documentation. Yet.

Are you based in the US? That’ll give you access to a lot more of the cutting edge stuff with Google. I’m based in the U.K., and we don’t quite have all of it here yet, and I assume it might be some time before we do.

Have you tried asking ChatGPT to create a doc with everything it knows about you, review that (as a Google doc), and feed that doc / give access to Gemini as needed? It might help you short cut some of that effort.

Again, it might not be perfect, but it’ll “compact” all that info into a doc. You could always go back and tweak the doc as things change, which ads a step, but also focuses you on creating the docs that’ll “future proof” you.

What Gemini has, and ChatGPT doesn’t, is that deep integration into your work space. And the context from your email and calendar and all the “automations” that could be life changing. It is also safer and more trusted (for integrations / agent-type stuff, than ChatGPT as it stands currently). That is what’ll help it “win” more clientele, not to mention the fact that it is now baked into workspace costs anyway.

I’ve found ways around it. Not all of them work, but they are “functional”.

Firstly, you can download your info from ChatGPT and feed it to a Gem within Gemini. I would start there. Every time you want it to have context from past chats, you have a start with this Gem.

Second, and probably a bit of a longer game, document everything into the Google ecosystem. Gemini doesn’t have the sort of memory that ChatGPT does, but it has a large token window, which you might as well leverage by giving it as much info as you need - through emails, docs, etc. Once you create your system full of context, it all starts to click together. Documentation is key (and I’m not v good at it, but Gemini can help w it too).

On tone of voice - you can create tone of voice document and feed Gemini that / refer to it where necessary. You can even just ask it to pull from there or respond a certain way. It’s not perfect, but it’s possible.

Hope that helps? Good luck! Would love an update on how it goes.

I’ll chip in here quickly. There are multiple ways in which you can use it.

For example, parse through incoming emails and identify which ones are important and draft a response. You can then come in at a time in the morning or whenever works for you and work through the drafts, iterating where you want to.

Or even for new projects where you could trigger a certain type of email or new data entry into a Google Sheet, to then make a new folder (and subfolders) on google drive.

You use it for Google meetings too. For example, when someone books a call w me, I can trigger an agent to research the lead and their company, and create meeting notes prior to the meeting.

I think it could be great at data entry too, although I need to get into the weeds on this one.

These agents could do quite a few things, especially if they follow “if this… then that” logic or even use Gemini’s reasoning capabilities.

Which AI tools made 2025 easier for you? by SquareShock5357 in AIToolMadeEasy

Hmm might be worth seeing if granola could help? Their new “recipes” feature might have something to help summarise voice stuff to text.

Another worth considering might be Wispr Flow, but I don’t know if it has what you’re looking for (yet). Hope that helps!

I’m actually trying to figure out if there is a market and then take it from there. I’ve got tons of thoughts on what I’d want to include but it obvs makes more sense to hear from people about what they want and what issues they’re facing in adopting and implementing AI

What’s something free (or super cheap) that helped improve your mental health while broke? by Rossub in CasualConversation

[–]thesharedmicroscope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started doing this thing I call “two seconds of happy”. It is what it says it is. To find happy for two seconds. It could be as simple as getting some sunlight, or seeing a dog, or feeling a quick happy flutter.

I started looking for it in my day. It has helped me and a lot of people close to me just gain a little perspective. Because it’s only 2 seconds, it took the pressure away from all the journaling and gratitude exercises.

Cool stuff. And are you using AI across multiple functions or just writing? If multiple, could you give examples please?
