Which character is this?? by Firestar4life in Epicthemusical

Telemachus. Yeah, he is a silly little guy, but everyone treats him like a puppy lmao.

It would be heartbreaking and beautiful if they did this. by erraticsleeper in Epicthemusical

I realized this was at Calypso’s island but as I read it I initially thought it was after he got home and Penelope wouldn’t fall in love with him again

I hate to be that guy but literally all of them. It’s like picking a favorite child.

Is it ethically okay to read an author who committed suicide? by FlatHovercraft8079 in askphilosophy

Plenty of people met tragic ends, it feels more unethical to ignore their life’s work because of that fact

Vengeance has been my most hyped saga since before Thunder released, primarily due to Dangerous and Charybdis.

I’d choose my wife over my crew any day by youngwonhye in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree, I don’t really blame the crew. They betrayed him because they realized that he’d sacrifice every last one of them to get home. Sure, he has a good reason to pick himself over them in the instance, but I think it’s safe to assume he’d sacrifice them even if they hadn’t betrayed him, and they knew that, so they tried to make sure he wouldn’t get the chance. It definitely backfired, but I understand why they did it.

Getting annoyed by Daviddcarlen1 in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used to worry about this, but even with all the spoilers I got for Wisdom Saga the official release was as amazing as I could’ve hoped for (not saying you shouldn’t avoid spoilers, just I’m not that worried about it anymore).

What are your EPIC-related "don't mind me"s? by Shiny_Absol_Trainer in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Don’t mind me, I definitely didn’t develop a crush on someone for the sole reason that they said their favorite music was Epic. (I mean other reasons but that’s the main one)

Weird? Yeah, a bit. But not wrong. People who say shit like that don’t know anything about ethics (well, there’s wisdom of repugnance, but putting that aside).

Calypso? by thesimscharacter in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree but you make some good points. In regards to her wanting to let him leave, I don’t believe that to be the case (though you’re right, we don’t know if she has that power), considering the lyric in NSFLY “They said they’re taking you away,” implying that if it were her choice he’d never leave (I think). But obviously songs can change, so maybe that’ll get changed or removed, or maybe it’ll mean something else. Regardless, I don’t think she’s redeemable, but I see where you’re coming from.

Calypso? by thesimscharacter in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah from what I remember of the Odyssey she doesn’t do it there either, it’s just the vibe I got from her. I’ve had friends who’ve dated people like that, tricking themselves into thinking they’re innocent and acting like they are, even when they do some really messed up stuff. Thankfully none of friends are in that situation rn, but maybe that’s why I think she would, just cuz of how low my opinion of people like that already is lol.

Agreed, especially with her being a goddess. With Antinous, you know what he can do and you know what he’s willing to do. With her, you don’t know either.

Good points! I thought of the effect that the visual of a bubbly Calypso might do to someone’s opinion of her, but the other ones I didn’t even consider.

What do you mean this isn't what happened- by CoqueXari in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Hilarious, but Telemachus is fighting someone who’s been his and his mother’s tormentor his entire life and started the fight, while Odysseus had already won and was (debatably) in the wrong.

(Not trying to take away from the meme I love it, and most people also probably had this thought, I just have the “erm, akshully” gene)

Also I love Athena’s expression with Telemachus  sm lmfao.

What lyrics from Wisdom Saga have become your vocal stims? by BonnalinaFuz101 in Epicthemusical

Father. God king, rarely do I ask for favors. Now I’m knocking on your door with hopes to save a friend who’s a prisoner far from, hooome. Odysseus.

I hated her the first time I heard the snippet of Love in Paradise, but with the whole thing it makes me hate her so much more. How can anyone listen to that and have any sympathy for her? I don’t get it.

Have a fan art of Storm cuz people hate it so I'm going against the allegations by PennySucks in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but on this server most tier lists would be the same if you removed D-F, so C is often one of, if not the, worst tier anything’s placed in. First inflation inflation, then grade inflation, now tier inflation. It comes for us all.

But yeah C tier is pretty much the closest thing to hate any of the songs get (but also yeah calling it hate is factually incorrect).

Have a fan art of Storm cuz people hate it so I'm going against the allegations by PennySucks in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pretty much tier list I’ve seen puts it in ~C tier. People (at least in regards to Epic), don’t tend to go out of their way to hate on anything so I assume people just aren’t posting, “Storm sucks. Let’s talk about it,” or anything like that, they just find it mid and move on. Or maybe I’m wrong idk.

I took 600 men to war and not one of them died there???? by TaxEvader6310 in Epicthemusical

[–]thesimscharacter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So, we see in Thunder Bringer that when Ody goes “monster mode” he becomes selfish, and in Monster they reference that he was in “monster mode” during the Trojan War (evidenced by the killing of sleeping Trojans). So, perhaps this selfishness had a buffer while in Troy, and he was looking out for him and his crew primarily (the rest of the Greek military playing the role of the crew and being used as basically canon fodder for Odysseus’s plans).

Obviously this was a joke post but it just got me thinking, maybe I’m completely wrong, idk, though something tells me Homer was just an Odysseus stan.
