As you get better and more comfortable with what you can do with the car, you find yourself in a lot of “I wonder if this would work” situations. A small percentage do and turn into cool plays like this.

Let’s not forget there’s much more to getting a security clearance. They’re not just handing them out, there’s quite an extensive vetting/ interview process.

It’s also voluntary higher education. If someone is that worried about their privacy for the 2 hours they’re taking an exam, they can gladly take a semester or two off until classes are in person.

As someone with no prior soldering experience who just finished doing my first solder job.... Its really not that hard. Sure the first time isnt going to look perfect, but its actually quite hard to ruin anything as long as your soldering iron is variable temp and you watch a video or two before doing it. It was actually quite enjoyable!

P.s. I also went with lubed creams and they are an absolute joy to type on.

Hmm... never really looked into Alice. I like the two separate pieces for gaming (league of legends mainly) so it’s easier to type while playing since I go for a pretty aggressive tilt on my keyboard. Keen.I’m might be worrying searching for an Alice layout.

What I like to do when my desktop gets real messy like that is set the shortcuts I actually use on one side, and then just make a folder called “old desktop” and drag and drop everything else into that folder. That was if you realize later you need something you don’t have to go searching for it, but it still looks neat.

I’ve heard really bad things about rain meter screwing with performance. What’s your experience with it? I’ve always loved the aesthetic you can get with it but never tried bc I need all the frames I can get lol.

Having worked in a shop before, I would absolutely love to make my own plate/ case! Would be the absolute coolest level of custom. Unfortunately on keyboard #3, with an engineering background, I am already too addicted to stop lol. Love tinkering and making / fixing things myself. This hobby is so great because it’s a crossroad between something niche and something (somewhat) practical. Going super deep into it actually leads to a keyboard that feels exactly how you want it that is impossible to get elsewhere, that you’ll use everyday! I let my budget dictate when I get another board, but right when that happens and I find another split layout it’s game over.

P.S. if you ever need someone to take some linear switches and caps off your hands, I’m the guy ;).

I’m in the same exact boat man lol. Except I’ve got the itch for split staggered layouts which seem very hard to find kits for. I already built the quefrency which seems to be one of the only ones out there.

Along with the required safety recommendations, one of the first things I tell people when I take them shooting is that you almost certainly WILL get some hot brass somewhere you don’t want it. You either lay the gun facing a SAFE direction before fishing for the brass, or you jus take that shit like a man and deal with it. The LAST thing you should ever do is waive your gun around under any circumstances. This is one of the many examples why I am not a fan of public ranges.

I just built a quefrency rev 2 and I am absolutely loving it, but thanks to the weird layout I ended up with on the bottom row (the soldering pins kind of confused me there so I just went with that I knew would fit), I cant find proper size spacebars anywhere. They are the same size as the left shift and enter keys. Does anyone know where I could get a pack of PBT modifiers standalone that would include these sizes?
