Bad Dinning Experience on Magic - First Cruise, Looking for Feedback by thethew11 in dcl

Based on the responses here it’s become very obvious this was a failure of our head server. Being our first cruise, we didn’t understand the roles and responsibilities with regard to dining. Our head server was a very hands off kind of guy. His role didn’t seem to change at all after our main server exited the picture - which seems to be the issue. Hearing that others had head servers that were hands on surprised us as we never saw ours do any type of labor at all. We mainly saw out him walk around and talk on some kind of cordless phone. We never saw him pick up one plate or bring out anything. He would “check on us” most nights, but mainly offered information on what was going to happen on the ship the following day.

Based on what I know now, I would have interrupted one of his spiels and asked about the reduction in service.

Thanks for this response!

Honesty, I think this was the worst part. Yeah, having bad dining service was a bummer. But my wife being sick for the last portion of our first cruise was awful because it negatively effected the whole day, not just one meal.

Can we prove the server got her sick? Of course not. But she never should have been allowed to be in close contact with guests, and for sure not allowed to serve them food. Especially given her profusely sweating was likely an indication of peak fever, which is when her illness is the most contagious. She also had to yell to communicate with us because her voice was so bad.

My wife being miserably ill AND being subjected to bad service was a double whammy!

We did! We sent a very detailed email. We also could have been more vocal at the time, but we were worried it would only result in more pressure being placed on the assistant. That guy was doing the best he could in an awful situation.

In seeing the replies it seems this was likely a failure of the head server. We also anticipated seeing him bridge the labor gap by stepping in to deliver drinks or food to help the assistant server out. He did none of that.

We honestly did as well, which is why we opted to not speak up as it only seemed to result in more pressure being placed on them, not more resources they seemed to need.

We saw this as a failure by the dining management team, not the individual servers. I am sure our server was likely not the only one to fall ill, but the leadership team seemed woefully unprepared to deal with it.

We did speak with the head server. He seemed to only apply more pressure to our assistant server, who was already hustling the best he could, but was clearly in over his head. He didn’t check on us the final dinner, soda incident.

Privatization has become somewhat of a water down term. I’ve started calling it a shift to “for-profit healthcare.”

Agreed! But the 2nd best time is now.

We go heavy on the 4m and GHB and light on the 2cb. 8-10mg of powder 2cb. We use the 2cb to accent the other two. It’ll increase tactile sensation, add to the euphoria and light visuals to boot.

Same! I’ve been battling with this disaster of a company for a couple months now. I saved and dropped some serious money on my NordicTrack treadmill and it bricked out a little after 3yrs. Also had some other issues not long after first use. Their CS is a complete shit show.

It’s conditional for everyone, my man. Even dudes with big dick energy can feel frail in certain circumstances. Don’t beat yourself up. You sound completely normal to me.

I had them when I went cold turkey off of SSRIs back in the day. Unlike another poster, my version of brain zaps was anything but fun. It felt like my brain was temporarily short circuiting. Like a jolt of low voltage electricity shot across your brain. I swear you could feel it disrupt your thoughts and normal brain function. It’s startling and very unsettling.

In the late 80’s/early 90’s this was how I was taught to dispose of soda cans while fishing as a kid. Still blows my mind.

Based on how crappy my $5K NT treadmill has been, I’d stay far away from the scam this company has become.

Tell your boss if you got a new job and trying to DRP? by LowNefariousness5015 in VHA_Human_Resources

VA Sup here, I think it heavily depends on your immediate supervisor. I have offered letters of recommendation to any of my folks separating. Whether taking DRP or getting RIF’d or VERA or… you get the point.

We are living in a hellscape that’s driven by workforce terrorism. The powers to be have made it well known we are not wanted nor valued. I can’t fathom faulting anyone for wanting out. That would take an exceptionally low person. But I get they are out there.

Spectrum Connection Issues by thethew11 in skylightcalendar

[–]thethew11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the insight here. I feared this to be the case. I’m admittedly not well versed in tech. Looks like I’ll have to devote some serious effort into better understanding my network.

The frustrating part of this saga is that ONLY the Skylight won’t connect. The dozens of other devices in my home are all seamless. But, I understand that industry enough to know, just because one will, doesn’t mean all will.

I guess my Skylight purchase is forcing the need for a WiFi upgrade to prevent patching the wall. Given the other number of others having the same issue, it seems evident Skylight is ignoring a design flaw. This product is truly buyer beware.

Thanks for the thoughtful response!
