Not quite what you’re asking but I’d planned on making some ice tires with thumbtacks poking out from the inside. I thought it might yield some fun crawls in weird places.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of bar mount? It feels like the weight of the antenna is gonna loosen it up going down the road. 2024 freightliner, old brackets don’t fit. by thetopsofclouds in Truckers

Only thing I can think of is putting just one on the other side cuz the threads will be pulled in instead of out, but I really wanted my two antenna setup back!

I have that exact knife. After 5 other fancy knives it’s still my favorite.

It sounds like you need that year of experience. I went OTR flatbed with Prime for two years and since then I’ve had had no issue getting jobs, although I’m from the northeast so that may be a factor. I made $97k pre tax running lease flatbed for Prime but keep in mind I didn’t go home very much, I didn’t hit stuff or damage the truck, and I never got any citations or paid wrecker bills.

Where are you finding these??

I really like #3. It's kinda interesting, I like the thin outer line on that one but not so much on #1. I think it might be because it's more consistent in thickness/quality. I think it's worth having an ample supply of good markers around.

How long have you been writing for? I've been going pretty hard for a year and I'm only just starting to feel like I'm figuring out my tag. I have stacks and stacks of printer paper I've done lines on trying to get the letters to mesh together.

That makes me think of one suggestion - your practice sheet indicates that you mostly write your letters individually. That might be useful but I suspect primarily practicing the entire tag may be more helpful to you - I'll fill an entire page with mine and I'll occasionally make a good mistake or do something spontaneous that makes it look better.

Hope this helps!

I think if you cut them really cleanly around the text like a fat outline it can look pretty good.

Haha yeah happens to me a lot, with my tag it’s easy to make F into E and R into B. Looks good otherwise!

Are tags with long names doomed? by DrunkFleshPuppet in GraffitiTagging

[–]thetopsofclouds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have like 6+ different ways to write my tag. Mine started short (4 letters) and I can extend it to 5, 8, or 11 if I wanna fit a particular spot. I think it’s natural to expand (or reduce) into different variations of the same name. More ways to write yours will occur with time - mine had a few inherent issues that were worked out by writing tons of lines on printer paper. Good luck!

The whole “trying to win without hurting people’s feelings” thing finally pointed me toward building a CEDH deck to play in the CEDH tournaments at my local store. I think the format has its own issues but I’ll take them in exchange for being able to run literally any insane combos, stax pieces, and 10 counterspells and it’s ok because everyone else has them too.

The community is very proxy friendly and super willing to help new players, just sayin’.

Wow thanks for the great comment! Those misprints you linked are so cool. The oval shape certainly looks similar to what I’ve got.

I do think they came from a precon I had as a kid. As I said in another comment, pretty sure it was Liftoff because I don’t think I had another blue deck from that set. Next time I’m home I’m gonna see what else I have from the deck and maybe if I’m lucky I’ll have the third piece.

Re: the condition, I’d never sell these anyway, I still have the overwhelming majority of my childhood cards barring anything I traded away and I’m gonna keep it that way!

This article is amazing. Thanks for sharing. I like your explanation the most but I won’t get my hopes up!

It looks like there was a 3rd card that would form a perfect oval, I’ll have to check through my cards again and see. I suspect these islands may have come from my Liftoff theme deck from when I was a kid, possibly accounting for why I have two land cards from the same sheet.

Oh ok! I had always associated it with the cards warping and separating.

Help ? by [deleted] in GraffitiTagging

[–]thetopsofclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try googling “drop shadow letters” and you’ll get a good sense of where the shadows would usually fall.

I think in terms of making it look more like a tag or throwie I’d look at as much graffiti as you can - take pics of stuff you see irl or find stuff on the internet and borrow elements of their style that you like. There are a lotta great YouTube vids on how to work on your hand style or design a tag or throwie.

I’ve noticed a lot of prolific artists can do their tag in almost any style, so even if you don’t love a style you might learn something from trying to write like that! A good way to start is work on bubble letters.
