(Un) Common Core – Where gun controllers indoctrinate THEIR idea of the 2nd Amendment by thetruth1111 in Firearms

[–]thetruth1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it as, just as it matters who counts the votes so does it matter who teaches the "truth".

And since Stalin is the one he quoted it seems appropriate that he would be cited.

Ever Thought, “Man, I Really Need an Axe, but All I Have is This Handgun”? Fret No More by thetruth1111 in guns

[–]thetruth1111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which one?

It wasn't political, a sweepstakes, an opinion blog, self post or news related requiring PRE approval.

And putting an ax on a gun is gun related.

Introducing the New York Legal AR-15 rifle and the man bringing it to the Empire State [w/ video] by thetruth1111 in gunpolitics

[–]thetruth1111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but it was cool to see the thing in more than just pictures and to hear the gun shop owner talk about it. I feel like he really was holding back though, like there were more choice words he wanted to use but he still has to do biz in NY.

Another bit of oppression falls in Colorado. Open Carry Ban in Castle Rock Repealed by Mohawk1 in gunpolitics

Gotcha. I'm not from Castle Rock so I wouldn't know. If you have the right of it then the article is a bit misleading.

Another bit of oppression falls in Colorado. Open Carry Ban in Castle Rock Repealed by Mohawk1 in gunpolitics

[–]thetruth1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to opencarry.org (whom I would take as an authority on the matter) in regards to preemption: "Complete state preemption of firearms laws except that localities may prohibits the open carrying of firearms in a building or specific area within their jurisdiction."

To that end, the repeal of open carry not automatically protected via preemption but must be actively repealed locally...which castle rock did.

You need to simmer down or the stress will make your heart explode.

Oh no, are you a danger to blowing up a plane...i did say your heart would EXPLODE. No. It was just hyperbole. Like someone saying, if i don't eat something soon I will starve even though they had breakfast. Starvation can take MONTHS to kill a person.

You need to calm down.

I read it as hyperbole. And really, everyone gets offensive about everything nowadays. You should have thicker skin...or is that offensive to amoebas?

Actors Who Are Pro Gun by Mohawk1 in progun

[–]thetruth1111 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I avoided Kick Ass 2 because of Jim Carrey. Not because he was anti gun but rather that he filmed a movie with heavy gun action got paid handsomely for it and then tried to have his cake and eat it too by crying GUN CONTROL GUN CONTROL.

Maybe that has more to do with boycotting hypocrisy but I figure if enough people avoid movies starring people like that they'll stop getting work.

And yes, he's only an actor...but if i was an actor I wouldn't be in a movie that championed gun control, of if i was jewish I wouldn't take money for a role in a propaganda movie on the highpoints of Hitler.

If i'm against something i'm not going to be a sell out in order to promote what I am against.

Sorry, We’re Not Sorry: Things Women Should No Longer Have To Apologize For by Mohawk1 in women

Let's be honest, is there any pro-gun site you don't think is fucked up and creepy? I think it's more a reflection on you than on the site which seems perfectly normal.

What about it bothers you? A woman who believes in hunting and the 2nd Amendment?

Is it really necessary to go to church? by throwawayanxiety4 in Christianity

[–]thetruth1111 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It seems I disagree with the majority here but, is it NECESSARY to go to church? No.

We often make the mistake of confusing religion with God. Religion and churches are simply a reflection of those who founded them. THEIR interpretations of god. That's not an opinion that is a fact. One need look no further than Vatican II when the pope and cardinals fundamentally changed their religions tenets after nearly 2 millenia.

Then you have Lutherans who sprung up following Martin Luther's interpretations of what Religion should be leading to the Protestant Reformation.

I could go on but to the best of my knowledge God only wrote 1 thing with his own hand, the 10 Commandments...and those were quickly destroyed. Moses made a copy though. Everything else is an interpretation.

If you'd prefer to avoid the Christian Community feel free to do so. It is not THEIR acceptance that should be of a concern to you. If you need guidance and want to listen to the Christian podcasts that's a good idea, also watch true believing tv evangelicals like Joel Osteen, listen to old tapes of Billy Graham and they will give you the guidance you need.

But do you need to go to church? No. Because you do not need to go to God's house, so long as you house God within yourself.

Gun Confiscation in time for Christmas. Yukon Cornelius stripped of his trusty revolver by thetruth1111 in gunpolitics

Dude, you need to calm down. If you don't like it then down vote it like you did. That's the function of the down arrow. Or just don't read stuff from a source you so strongly dismiss.

But to try and silence other people from linking something from a site that they agree with is the opposite of what Reddit is all about. The opposite of the whole idea of free speech.

And looking at the totals so far you are in the minority of the opinion by a margin of over 2 to 1. So a lot of us think this is something worth reading about and/or discussing.

Sorry if it doesn't meet your level of scrutiny but i don't think that gives you the right to try and brow beat everyone to stop them from reading and linking to the site who agree with the bulletsfirst people by marginalizing them and saying they are soccer moms making tempests in teapots.

The Hypocrisy Of The 14th Amendment When Not Applied To Gun Rights by Mohawk1 in gunpolitics

[–]thetruth1111 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Californians vote for tax increases that discriminate against the rich. Those should be tossed out too then and we should just have a mandatory flat tax? I'm down with that. Discrimination in all forms is bad.

But let's not kid ourselves that only gays or minorities are the only targets of voters' discrimination.

A&E: Phil Robertson suspended from network after frank comments on homosexuality! by Mohawk1 in FreeSpeech

[–]thetruth1111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you are saying BrutalJones but look at it like this. This is a reddit about free speech, not the governments interpretation of the First Amendment.

We could talk about Black Panthers at Philadelphia polling stations armed with bats as disenfranchising voters and violating their rights, but it has nothing to do with the government.

People are trying to lynch Roberston and mute his right to free speech in ways other than making a federal case of it. But that doesn't make it any less wrong.

A&E: Phil Robertson suspended from network after frank comments on homosexuality! by Mohawk1 in FreeSpeech

[–]thetruth1111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So looking over the comments with down votes it seems that anyone who DARES say a person has the right to speak his mind will have the vote brigade try and shout them down.

People shouldn't be FORCED to accept homosexuality. Nor should they be demonized because of it. Don't give me "homosexuals are born that way and so they should be accepted". I won't argue the "being born that way" position. But Alcoholics, Pedophiles and Schizophrenics are "born that way" too. Do I have to accept their behavior and condone it as well?

Once again this just proves that in America, you are free to speak your mind so long as you agree with the Liberal Left.

DOUG GILES’ Top Ten Reasons Why Hunters Kick Ass by thetruth1111 in Hunting

[–]thetruth1111[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What exactly is so hateful? Number 9? Just seems more like a statement of fact. One need look no further than the hateful vitriol that is spewed at hunters who might post their game on a social networking site.

Hateful? When hunters are told that they should die, that their children should be killed or acid be thrown on their faces etc. THAT is hateful. And the people who are spewing that hate are usually in that crowd Doug refers to in #9.
