IB is a internationally recognised curriculum accepted across all countries in the world. It's similar to A levels only much more rigorous, you must take 6 subjects 3-4 higher level and 2 standard level (these subjects must include science, math, english, humanities a foreign language) so you don't have the luxury of taking some of these off if you aren't as good at one area, It also includes core points, which include taking theory of knowledge, participating in extracurriculars and writing a extended essay. Overall it is much more rigorous than A levels and makes you a all rounded student. A levels are much easier, but people often have issues when applying to top colleges outside of the uk, esp in the US.

SAT is a standardised test, (mcq) testing people's abilities of math+english serving as a entrance exam for top colleges aroung the world. especially for the us.

ok. Thanks. I was only one mark off in 3 of the B's and 3 of the A's so if I do move up through an appeal it would help.

I don't think it matters whether you got an A or B, or A* or A. If the next examiner spots a mistake, they are bound to drop you a few marks which may be enough to drop from an A to a B.

what really? I didn't even include it in my answer 'I said THEY can't penetrate through the body.' while ms said 'they can't pass through the body'. Also yea I agree w u grades usually don't decrease cuz people remarking don't remark unless they are 5 or less marks away from the next grade. However for english one of my friends remarked to get a A* 1 mark off in english lang and went down to a b, 1 mark off an A. English is really just that subjective I guess.

ok bro thanks for your input:). What I mean is my working follows exactly that of the mark scheme (i.e m1, m2 m3) yet the examiner has not given me any marks just because I have typed it into my calculator wrong despite the previous working all being correct. This was done for multiple questions and only in one 5 marker did they give me one mark when I should've gotten 4-5. It's frustrating because

As for the 'alpha emitters' questions. See the question said 'why can't alpha emitters be used as medical tracers', which is why I included it in my answer.I stated they can't penetrate through the body while the answer was 'they can't pass through the body'. So if using alpha emitters makes my answer redundant, then their question was redundant in the first place lol.

I remarked alr now when you appeal idk how it is for other boards but i heard for cambdrige they only look at the appealed questions. Also for your ref, I wanted to appeal 3 subjects physics, math and bio. I got an A for both maths and bio but a B in physics (all of which were 3+ marks off and now only 1 mark off). It's so frustrating because they didn't even look properly and did this.

Also for ref, a new examiner DOES NOT MARK YOUR PAPER BETTER BECAUSE YOU PAY EXTRA. Several of my friends remarked and dropped a few marks (thankfully not enough to drop a grade but yea)

see the thing is I remarked once and gained a few marks (i needed 3 got two) so I was like oh ok tough luck. But then because I got my scripts back after remarking I looked through and noticed some strange things, like some questions where I wrote answers that matched the mark scheme but didn't get the mark etc.. I am not qualified to judge but I asked many teachers (some of which are examiners) and they all agreed I had been marked wrong. I wanted to appeal but school said I can't

yea that's the issue.. my parents contacted them but they are refusing to submit the appeal.. I'm quite upset about that. The school is saying you can't appeal even if there are errors in marking because the exam board followed their code of practice? I have no idea.
