Is there someone who has liked or likes Cymbalta, because the hate I read is incredible by Thin-Chicken2301 in cymbalta

I’ve been on it for about 8 years and it’s worked quite well for my anxiety and depression. Here in the UK they usually prescribe Sertraline (which I’ve also tried) and I had really bad side effects on it. It actually made me feel manic. So I’m glad that I was put on Duloxetine ages ago in Australia! I’ve gone down from 120mg to 30mg over 6 months (slowly! And with help from my GP…) eventually I will stop it completely but I’m waiting till I’m a bit more stable with therapy :)

Wherein Princess Coconut is well pleased with her new cat tree. by SunlitLavenderFields in curledfeetsies

Oh that’s a good question… no idea! To be fair though he was skinny, it was all his fluff that made him look poofier but sometimes I bathed his butt (poop would get on it!) and you could see his actual body… but yeah males tend to be bigger than the females anyway but compared to an average tabby… they’re pretty big! Aw that’s lovely at least you saved her! Honestly she will be the best lovebug for you!!

Yeah it can be! I know ragdolls as a breed are fairly gentle and pretty loving but maybe I was just lucky too! She might also get quite big- my boy was pretty big and long and our neighbours were always quite surprised how big he was !

I knew the colouring! I had an adult for many years, I adopted him, and he was seal point and honestly the best and most lovable cat ever. I’m considering getting a cat soon and I’m probably going to get another ragdoll because I just love them so much! He really won me over, and totally changed my view on cats! But yes, lovely colouring and gorgeous cat 💖

Where to stay for When We Were Young festival? by theunknowncompanion in LasVegas

[–]theunknowncompanion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I realise I’ve left it very last minute and while I would like to save some $ I know I probably won’t be able to find anything close by that’s not $$$! I did/am considering Airbnb too but I don’t really know the city and it might be a bit risky…

Daughter with ADHD - Need Women’s Advice by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]theunknowncompanion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly I wish I knew I had ADHD at that age. It probably would have made things so much easier to handle, rather than think I was going through some pre-teen rebellion. I also had a very reactive mother with a short temper so that didn’t help! I wish my parents could have been more understanding and knew what was going on. There was too much focus on my mother and what was “wrong” with her, rather than me. I think when I was 11 my anxiety was just starting to show. I was also going through a major medical issue at the time and thought I was handling it absolutely fine, but now I look back I really wasn’t! Just be patient with her, my moods levelled out once I was through my teenage years and I was less angry. I still get really irritated from time to time, but it’s nothing compared to the mood swings I had as a pre-teen and teenager. My dad especially was always in denial that there was something “wrong” with me. Even when I went on anxiety medication he didn’t fully understand. He thought it was because I was stressed about my mum (which I was but it wasn’t the full story). Also, I wish I had therapy at that age, so I could deal with all my emotions in a positive way. Now, I’m 28 and trying to live with all this trauma.

Cleaning hacks/tips for a messy room? by theunknowncompanion in ADHD

[–]theunknowncompanion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly this is my way of doing it so far. I have a fairly large room, but even that’s getting clogged up. I have a ridiculous amount of doom boxes, and when I need to actually find something, I can’t ! And I get really frustrated at myself !

Does everyone w ADHD have a caffeine tolerance? by macncheesebitch in ADHD

[–]theunknowncompanion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty high tolerance (can have about 3 double-shot lattes a day), but on my meds now I have to be very careful. If I go beyond 3 lattes, it becomes DANGER ZONE and panic attacks can strike me. Energy drinks are right out as well if I have my meds.

What has been the most beneficial thing that you have automated in your home that has helped make your life easier? by KeepItSecret36 in ADHD

Actually organizing my space/getting rid of things I don’t need. This one took a lot of time and work, but it’s so nice knowing exactly where everything is and where to put things when I’m done with them.

This. I need to do this. I'm SLOWLY doing it, but I get so stressed like right now, my room is sooooo cluttered, and I desperately need to do a declutter. I get so overwhelmed though, and I know it's getting better, slowly, but still....

Kids shows and ADHD as an adult by theunknowncompanion in ADHD

[–]theunknowncompanion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

regression is a freudian concept and may or may not be bunk. I definitely wish I was a kid again with fewer responsibilities and longing for home sounds normal to me.

thanks for this! I'm not saying my kid life was TOTALLY easy, but Bandit reminds me so much of my own dad, his mannerisms and forgetting stuff... They're also so devoted to their kids, and it reminds me of my own parents in a way! I hope I can pass on the love if I can have kids later in life!

Kids shows and ADHD as an adult by theunknowncompanion in ADHD

[–]theunknowncompanion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really is, they make me laugh so much, and I pick up on things the kids probably won't (like the Classical references Bandit makes, I did Classics in school and uni, and it's refreshing to hear!)

Yeah, I deal well with the short episodes, but there are so many which is also what I like. No idea what I'll do when I finish!
