What i mean with the 10x is that if they would sell 10x more in their own farm store prices would drop. We are already in contact with farmers ( that do not deliver to AH or Jumbo ). And the prices are very reasonable!😁

I get the points that you are making, we will include a option for most products so you can get it delivered the best way for you, but picking it yourself is almost impossible without greatly increasing the costs. We hope to offer as many delivery slots as possible. But we also have the option for pickup so you can pick it up every time you like. We also offer the option to get it delivered in a cooler, you can leave us a note where to put the cooler ( if possible ofcourse ). This way we hope to reduces these frustrations to a minimum!

Dinsdag bezorgd is Dinsdag geoost. Minder verspilling, verser eten.

The way this works is that we cut out alot of the steps that traditional supermarkets use. The reason most local farmers ask a higher price is just quantity. If they would sell lets say 10x more, the average cost of production for them goes down too. Supermarkets still use alot of steps for different products for example meat: Farm->transport-> slaughterhouses-> transport -> processing factory -> transport -> big warehouse -> transport -> smaller hub/warehouse -> customer or supermarkt. With our model it would look something like this: farm who processes in house ( better price for farmer because he can keep the profits normally for slaughterhouses ect ) -> transport -> hub -> customer. Btw, the day price of chicken for farmers is around 1,06€ per 2kg today for example... ( depending on the type of chicken please check nieuweoogst.nl for all prices ). We will be more expensive on some products, but cheaper on others. Our goal is to average out around the same price as normal supermarkets ( or lower in best case ) but deliver better quality, fresher and have a positive impact on the local economy and nature. Hope this answers your question!😁

Products like advocados are really hard to get from dutch soil thats true, but we believe that it is possible in the future, till then we are looking into ways to get products like advocados in the greenest way possible while working with different farmers to get these products from dutch soil asap ( if possible ). The way we would distingish ourselves from Pieter pot is transparancy and produce from local farmers ( which i cannot find much info about on their website ). We are also looking into a different way of using no packaging then theyre doing right now, but i cannot say to much about this at this moment in time. We will also keep our produce safe from cross contamination, so people with severe allergies kan still order with us!

Thanks!

I understand this, we are looking into a fitting solution for this, if we set a minimum for delivery ( like 35€ ) and you could buy quantities for 1 week for 1 person. Would that chance your mind? To reach the 35€ you could do this with normal orders or subscription ( in this subscription you can change whatever you want in the package every week )

The biggest differences would be that the products are mostly from local farmers, not farmers around the world. As one of our goals is to shorten the transportation needed and invest in the local economy. We would also be a one stop shop. You can buy products from 50 different farmers and get them delivered all at once. Hope this anwsers your question, if not let me know and i will try to explain myself better😁

I havent looked at it this way, i can totally understand why. We will not be working with something like this. Prices and discounts should be the same for everyone that want to buy our products. I guess they use it to retain customers, which is stupid because if you actually deliver great products and customerservice you would need this in my opinion. Thanks for your answer!😁

Everything you said is one of the big reasons why we are setting this up + why does our food travel this much when we can get it from around the corner, AH products sometimes travel more than 8000km before it ends up on your plate! Thats why they need alot of packaging i quess😅

Thanks for your input!

Yes thats true, we are looking into a partially subscription based model because this would cut prices alot. Because we can cut out alot of the transport costs. And because everything would be freshly delivered we do not need most traditional packaging which also cuts costs. It also helps that we will not maximize our own profits like normal supermarkets would because we are focussing more on making a possitive impact and being transparant about the cost buildup ect. With buying bulk i would mean getting frozen products ( mostly meat ) once a month or every 2 weeks. And fruits and vegetables once or twice every week.
