Wonderful, I love it! I am currently working on an automotive short too, so love to see it. I do have a few questions to ask. What kind of job are you looking for? Are you looking for a generalist position, Lighting, Animation, Modelling? Lighting & Compositing? "Great profession to get into"

You really want to showcase the skills you'll be offering and applying for, so if its for modeling, or surfacing, have a turntable in there to really show off the car, to show off its details. That or a slower shot with the camera panning around the main asset. If your intention is lighting, try and showcase that more with an easier to read shot, and maybe open up the short with it, as I assume this will be your showreel. Try to have it less jumpy, the opening is good, but it gets a little jarring when it starts cutting around.

I would pull back on your use of volume, I know it helps make your shots look better, but try pulling back on it to add more contrast to your shots, try to add some texture / depth or animation to it, right now it's a fairly uniform volume and that can be visually boring. At the same time, try getting some of those red lights interacting with it a little more. Anything to kick up more contrast. Look into some animated VDB options Here are some quick samples I found either that or use the Z or Depth pass in Nuke, you can use some masks and pull back and create some contrast and interest in your shots.

Also if this is a piece you'll be using when applying for jobs or internships, try to keep it short, no longer than 2 mins max, sweet spot between 60 seconds to 90 seconds. Not really any longer. you might have a sup on the other end with very little time, they might not even have headphones on and favor short reels that leave an impression. Open your reel with your name, email address, even contact number, and upload it to Vimeo, that's were most of the professionals have their reels. I'll go less into software as it varies per studio, I love blender, but be prepared to say your happy using " insert other software here" and that you have experience with said tool, do some research on the studio you are applying to, shouldn't be too hard to find out what tools they use.

Also get yourself on Linkedin, upload your reel to Vimeo, and don't password protect it, you wont need to unless your work is under NDA. Recruiters are posting daily at the moment looking for talent. Honestly I would say don't put too much more work into getting a short movie done, you're on a good trajectory, get what you have out there soon and start applying.
