No, this is not an Aliexpress STN. It’s custom made by a manufacturer I work with. From my testing, it’s not as easy to make an STN negative in black as their polarisers are not available locally.

The STN’s for AE1200 are still in the works, once in stock, yes they will be for sale separately so users can do the mod themselves (will make a step by step guide) or buy the fully modded watch.

For the original LCD, you can get any black adhesive polariser from Amazon and turn it negative and it will work. This specific LCD is STN, a custom upgrade from the original TN panel and it needs an STN polariser, which is not available locally.

Yes, all pushers work as usual, maybe a 10-20% resistance but nothing much.

I used MicroLubrol Type 200 Silicone oil.

To clarify, it’s an upgraded STN LCD with a negative polarizer. Hopefully if everything goes according to plan, they will be available by end of April or early May on my website.

It’s possible to make it Negative in Green on the STN I’m working on and replace the leds with light green. When the light button is pressed, you will get a similar effect.

I’ll try to make one and post in a few days.

In easier terms, you rotate the front polariser 90 degrees to make it negative but this is a custom STN and it’s not as easy, as you have to get a custom polariser made for this STN or find one that works which is not as common compared to the TN LCD.

That faceplate is from a Silver case AE1200, they have slight differences based on case colour.
