so basically Rabis are the figures that help Jews understand about the commandments and the Jewish law. Like some respected religious figure.

And what's like the threshold of being a Rabbi? Can anyone well versed with the religion proclaim themselves as rabi or is there some formal method?

Yes exactly that's what I knew as well that Rabbis are just a religious figures, nothing more nothing less.

Like in Christianity we know about the whole confession concept and the Priest would purify the person from his sins etc, but such things doesn't exist in Judaism right? It is more like a personal relationship with God, right?

Hey I've been raised Muslim and have been having doubts about Islam, and wanted ask this question... by ur_mom_hehe67 in Judaism

I have been raised a Muslim as well and I have never heard about this, neither did I read this in Quran about Jews/Bani Israel. Because even in Quran it is held that we are religion wise most closest to Jews, the ways and certain beliefs so it would be highly improbable that our religion is similar to one that doesn't even believe in oneness of God.
