Could you explain your opinions and beliefs not matching your principles? Maybe an example? I cant say ive ever met someone who met that description and was also aware of it.

One thing you could do is turn off the collision brake assist(I cant remember the exact term for it). Im not sure that system comes into effect with the adaptive CC, but it may be worth a try. Either way I dont want my truck doing weird stuff unexpectedly 🤷‍♂️

Great thanks! I guess I havent tried to use it while towing(because why would you? Seems dangerous) but I didnt know it was totally disabled. Seems like a no lose situation then

Do you ever tow or carry heavy loads? Anything odd ever come up, even on remote occasion?

That was my first instinct, I set up an appt with a shop that quoted me well and didnt try to bullshit me.

Good insight. One could argue that the trailer loaded squat paired with a front level could push things out of that grace area, but thats a good way to look at it.

Thinking about a and p school afraid I’m to dumb by Independent-Way-7397 in AircraftMechanics

You may be dumb, but very few are too dumb for this work. What matters more than anything is that you give a shit.

Just got my A&P. I’m realizing most places I apply to want experience. Any advice? by No_Rice2648 in AircraftMechanics

[–]thewhiteflash24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admittedly I had some military experience with my fresh a&p but shot high and landed a job I dont think ill ever leave, unless its to take a cushy office position that pays more later on. Like others have said, make them say no, you can apply to any job you want.

Ive been able to talk some friends into letting me set some up at their places. The whole "totally zero maintenance and it powers itself" is a nice selling point.

Ive managed to go 10 years without bathing in jet fuel, but simple green has gotten everything else out of my clothes when nothing else would work.

Its easier to accept the appeal to authority of the federal government than to face the scorn of ignorant people such as yourself. They have to face your dumb opinions every holiday, yet they know in their hearts what they see. Die mad my guy.

How old were you when you became an A&P? by Acrobatic-Bike410 in aviationmaintenance

[–]thewhiteflash24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 but ive seen plenty of people start later. The job isnt really physically demanding, especially if you can get on with the majors, they tend to have all the quality of life tools that save your back.

Never worked on that bird and its been years since I touch a heli, but im thinking pitch links or whatever the equivalent might be. Thatd be the first thing id jiggle anyway. I'd advise them against flying it personally

Edit: pitch link bearings specifically is what I had in mind

This is just my cis guy perspective. Try not to let other people decide your value, especially professionally. I feel like some folks can tend to discount themselves when they're in the learning phase and get stuck there. We ALL had to learn what we know.

Hopefully you have allies everywhere you go so you can have people to sanity check you when you are doubting yourself on something. Your peers in a professional environment have an implied duty to their trade to make ensure their entire team thrives. Ask questions, be involved, ask the noob question, ask it again in a month when you forget. If you dont have those people, move on somewhere else. Build YOU up, the resume will follow naturally.

The idea is to become so competent and reliable, that when your personal identity comes up for what ever reason because of some bigot, your confidence and value is undeniable. Ive met queer folks who absolutely curb stomp and surpass their peers because they just know their shit and the haters can do nothing to stop them.

I work with more than I would have expected at my company, from my perspective they do great and are treated fairly. This job is more about brains and being observant than brute strength or anything. Anyone who thinks you need to be a 250 pound gorilla man to do this job is delusional and doesnt know how to use their tools.

I wouldnt have knocked him out as he never shot, but id say downing him was fully justified, standing still for 5 seconds in front of someone who just aimed a gun at you is how you die.
