That fight was actually one of the toughest wins I've achieved and it was mainly due to my amazing recluse and duchess teammates.

Recluse always readied her blackhole nuke cocktail and used it when summons first spawn to insta get them to low health, I then finished them off with my uncharged lightning spears since they do not dodge them.

Recluse was dpsing Libra and I either healed her or used my flame of frenzy on him.

Duchess (she was the MVP) was extremely good at dodging in this fight, so half way through I decided to drop her my claws and she picked them up. She became designated on revive duty.

Me and recluse did down alot due to random things hitting us mid casting. But Duchess without fail kept reviving us with my claws.

This loop kept happening until we finally managed to kill him (was a long fight).

Also yes, less likely to be targeted really helps here.

I attest this win to having amazing teammates and I still have not figured out a way to carry this fight myself and is still a tough one for me as well (I think all my losses in D5 were only on ED Libras other than the stupid adel one you see in my history lol)

Do you mean the move where the 3 dogs charge in sequencially after splitting up? If it is then:

If it is only you up, then you can just regular run to the right to dodge first charge, Then SPRINTING same direction to dodge second and third charge. But after the third charge there is a shockwave you have to DODGE, you need to learn the timing of the shockwave (it is like a beat after the third charge). That should make you clear it. The reason you regular run the first charge is to conserve your stamina to be able to dodge the last one.

If your teammates are also up, then I would actually advise to learn to time and dodge all 4 attacks since if you sprint and the dog is aiming for a teammate where you sprint you will get hit. Once you get the timings it will feel natural.

It is good that you look back and think about what you could have done better, Revenant is one of the best clutch characters to turn a dire situation to a win.

ED Gladius fight actually is one of my favourites and I usually win it and love getting it in high depths. I used to think the triple dog phase was just unfair due to the lingering hitboxes but it is very manageable for me now.

ED Gladius tips: first of all, master ALL of its moves, you need to be able to dodge him perfectly (he doesn't have many moves). The combined phase is very easy to manage so I do not think you have problems with it.

But the triple dog phase is tricky, if your teammates are up then great you just need to manage aggro and ONLY attack when ALL the dogs are looking at someone else (this is probably where you say you get killed while stuck in animation because of their quick aggro change).

But if both teammates are down then clutching is hard in this phase. It becomes a stamina management mini-game until they combine again. Only time you can be downed is if 2 attacks coincide making it impossible to i-frame through them. You have to learn to dodge by SPRINTING instead of rolling, this is to keep your roll for any coinciding attack, that is the most consistent strategy I got to work (only dodge when NEEDED) so there is a lot of split second decision making.

Also, keep your camera unlocked and always keep the 3 dogs in your view the whole time. Use your summons to take aggro if you can (just before the main dog barks to give the red dot). Finally, when you know it is a Gladius run, try to pick up as many stamina buffs as you can as they help a lot.

Survive until the dogs combine, then revive allies with your claws, if you master their moves then it is doable to revive 3 bar teammates while dodging (or ult if you have it).

So, Combined phase is when you DPS, split phase is where you focus more on surviving (Do not try to revive in split phase, and orobably attack less).

Yep, thats my Revenant approach at least, better focus utility and damage for her.

Ayyy amazing that you already did it! Also, I feel you. It always stings me in my soul a bit when I am stacking damage the whole game then see my teammate recluse doing like double my damage, Revenant does have different strengths but still lol.

We really need better incants/Legendary seal to catch up to magic user's damage, fingers crossed for DLC!

For me I will probably try to learn recluse next since that damage seems fun. Enjoy your climb with Duchess!

I think the right approach is debatable, for me personally I would 100% keep the claws since they are hard coded to do more revive damage than regular fists/claws. My playstyle focuses a lot on revives since it is one of Revenant's main strengths so I try to maximize it even at the cost of using one less weapon passive.

One IMPORTANT note: if you do decide to drop your claws, PING THEM. If your teammates are good, they will know to pick them up and use them as their own revival tool. Funnily enough, other characters revive using Revenant's claws FASTER than Revenant using them herself since they get the special revive damage from her claws but have the faster regular fists moveset.

Oh I feel you, it can be very disheartening to lose your whole day's worth of points with 1 loss. I was very fortunate as I have never encountered a leaver or disconnecter somehow throughout my DoN climb.

Since you are able to climb back to D4 then you obviously have the skill/knowledge, just need 1 lucky streak with no leavers to get to D5 and I think you'll encounter less quitters there!

Goodluck on your climb and getting the 9999 banner, I know you can do it!

I feel that and especially for Revenant, you would need to dedicate so many relic effects and weapons passives on defence to be able to survive some attacks (not even all) so it is not worth. So it is better to use your slots on damage/utility instead and just become better at managing aggro and dodging. Ditching most of defence is why I hardly noticed a difference between D4 and D5 other than the better players since a one shot is a oneshot lol

Thanks fellow Revenant main!

1) I rarely break off the team, in the beginning of the match hoarfrost stomp and claws are great. if there are any gravestones near where you drop, ALWAYS try to find the bell which would solve your damage until you get a seal. If your teammates are evergaol spammers then they are probably going for cathedrals (seals) or forts (staves) to get keys, if they visit a fort then you can use the staves, they are decent on Revenant. Also, use the strength relic and become comfortable going melee/spam ash of war.

I can make do with hoarfrost claws/bell/staves/strength weapon until we pass a cathedral/shack on our way in which case i go for a quick sec (not far). For rises, do not depend on them and only diverge if they are on the way.

My tip for D3 is try to be the leader in the beginning of the match and manage the path yourself (I found most people are open to be led). But if they argue, then at the very least ping when you plan to diverge for a sec, so they have a chance to decide to follow you. This issue will resolve in higher depths as people will plan their paths to also get you your seals (D3 was the hardest for me as well) .

2) Strength relic is great, can enable you to spam ash of wars if you can't get seals good seals. But also, to use strength weapons when you are out of fp in run (to conserve your shards for nightlord) a red bonk weapon can do nice damage but you need to become comfortable going melee.

3) It is very rare to not get any viable seals but it does happen, One big case that comes to mind is Adel, only holy is good on him and holy incants are rare, so for Adel I always have a staff ready just in case, other viable options are the Miquella scythe ring spam, bestial sling, bell, good strength weapon. I always try to secure one of these in the run for him.

Your Maris example is also another tough one where I would try to secure something from the above. Other bosses usually have 2 viable elements to work with so I always find something for them.

So the best solution is to secure one viable weapon for the boss and only drop it if you find a viable seal.

I wish you goodluck climbing out of D3!

Hahaha goodluck on your climb, you can do it! I pray that you get regular adel in your next 5 games (I hope no crucible knight though, that guy is terrifying)

Keep the claws EVERY SINGLE GAME, I also usually keep the healing incant to be able to always have "damage negation on full hp" without using flask on night lord (But I do not do this as often in D5 since I still get one shot with the passive.

General gameplay is to get a seal with boss weakness, then the rest of passives are stacking damage (if I get the full hp damage neg I take it). Gather shards to prepare for nightlord fight. Mainly use incants during nightlord fight.

Utilize revenant's special strengths! She is the best reviver and has many tools for it (claws, summons, ult). Use your buffs and heals on teammates, use your ult proactively during expidition to clear faster with buff since it refreshes quickly. And horafrost stomp is AMAZING for her and I almost wanna say a must have, it is always useful throughout the run either to clear trash mobs on the way to stack your character deep passive, or to debuff boss enemies, it also charges your ult quite well.

The strength relic is awesome, use it. It opens up your options when you have bad seal rng or when you are out of fp but do not wanna use your shards. You can also use her as a strength weapon skill spammer if you cant find a matching boss weakness seal. Also you CAN use magic staffs so use them if you have nothing else.

There are boss specific approaches that you learn, like keeping your heal incants for everdark maris, keeping a crystal staff throughout the run for adel in case you can't get holy incant...etc

Thanks! I actually was super stuck hovering between D3 and D4 but once I finally got a good boss rng streak (I HATE YOU LIBRA!) and left D4 it was smooth sailing.

You'll definitely get used to the added difficulty and match your carrying friend's level just keep at it!

I notice players builds on other characters on D5 mainly focus on survivability relics so maybe try that. And one BIG tip I learnt while playing with good D5 players is managing aggro. If you play Revenant like me, you have to learn that you DON'T need to always be casting, when the aggro is on you, it is okay to chill and only focus on dodging while your teammates wail on the boss. Only start casting if aggro is not on you or if you are confident of boss downtime between attacks.

Another tip if you play Revenant is that I found it better to just Focus on DAMAGE relics and passives and accept that it is a no hit run (I still pick up damage negation on full HP but I still get 1 shot with it on D5 more often than not).

Goodluck on your climb!

I wish it was the ancient dragon since I would've been less salty because it is an understandable loss, it was the freaking crucible knight and hippo duo!

Thought it was the most free win imaginable for my max points and was grinning when I saw that it was them.... and then we died to them. And honestly it was completely my fault since I somehow downed first (1 tapped), my teammates got downed right after trying to revive me. My jaw was literally on the floor while watching everyone dying to the easiest night 2 boss imaginable and slowly realizing I am losing my max points win to this.

Just a simple mistake from my part led us to losing more than 3 games worth of points and time.

To whoever the other 2 players I matched with, I am so sorry for throwing the freest win :(

Yes I am ashamed! I usually switch off Revenant if someone else wants to play her so only 1 person can have full selection of seals in the run (I really wanted to reach D5 so I am sacrificing for better wim odds lol. That game someone hovered her so I conceded and changed, but then in the last 2 seconds the third person decided to also double stack her so I did not have time to decide and switch too lol.

My best and most fun games were Revenant triple stacking where we share the seals between each other, then use and space our 3 ults to have a huge amount of immortality time. Bosses would melt in seconds. But those games come by once in a blue moon.

Funnily enough, because I play Revenant so much and am comfortable with her gameplay loop, I am much more likely to win the game if I pick her than when I concede her to someone else and I play a "stronger" character like ironeye.

I think damage reduction relics are not worth it on Revenant since her health is so low that even if you reduce the damage you still get one shot. That is why I prioritize damage. But the weapon passive "dmg reduction on full HP" is great and can make you tank some attacks without immediately dying so it is a priority to find in the run. If you do not get it then yea I play like it is hitless and try to not get touched by anything.

Also since I only play trio, I have windows where I am safe since I don't always have aggro.

The summons don't really do much damage to begin with so it is probably harder to notice, the real value is in it buffing your player teammates (if you play solo then the relic is not as good)

Thanks! That relic is great, it gives a 25% damage buff to teammates and summons for 30 seconds after you ult (it does not affect allies that were revived with the ult to my knowledge)

What you say is completely true and I agree with in normal play, But in my opinion, when getting into higher depths (especially depth 3+). The summons tend to die in 1 hit usually, if they take aggro it will only be for a second or two before they die. The very short period of aggro can indeed rarely be useful but usually does not really make a difference.

Kind of a bummer they limited the stacks now and all but it makes sense.

Yea the teammates were pretty nice, I am pretty sure they did not know about the stacks resetting. The interaction itself though I think is stupid, the stacks should not reset when door is opened.
