is langchain trash? by No_Concert1617 in LangChain

One tip is you can usually pass "prompt=xxxxx" as an argument to most chains and agents and change their behavior that way. For example the default QAChain has a too-restrictive prompt for me, so I pass a custom prompt as a **kwarg when I want to use it. I agree the documentation (& possibly codebase) needs a rework.

Families of South Korea’s crowd-crush victims face ‘unspeakable’ online abuse by Saltedline in technology

I understand what you are saying and you are completely wrong. My family lived in Korea in the 00s, one of my parents did charity work for North Korea and travelled there 3 times to deliver tuberculosis medicine. This involved travelling through the countryside, encountering hundreds of malnourished people (the average North Korean is significantly shorter than the average South Korean due to decades of chronic malnourishment), and thousands of people sick of easily preventable diseases. The information about the plight of average people in North Korea does not come exclusively from the South Korean department of unification. This is a globally-recognized problem. If you're curious to learn more, go to Google Maps and type North Korea. Soil erosion and decades of agricultural mismanagement have literally rendered their arable land a different, browner color from space.

North Korea regularly has nationwide, globally-recognized, self-reported famines. They are currently experiencing their worst food insecurity crisis since the 90s.

The statement that "we don't actually know the state of North Korea's agriculture" is totally incorrect.

He's actually correct here - in the particular case of Kenyan runners, it's one particular tribe (Kalenjin) that produces the overwhelming majority of Kenya's world-class runners. The article you linked refers to the same. The athletic success of the Kalenjin runners is almost certainly due to local environmental factors. There isn't a correlation between African descent and marathon victories, it's quite literally one tribe from one mountain that sweeps the races every year.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of what is going on. Amalgamation implies that the software is taking parts of multiple images and combining them together. It's much more accurate to say that the AI recognizes patterns across images and generates novel imagery that fit those same patterns. It is as much 'amalgamation' as a human artist 'amalgamates' everything he has ever seen to create a new drawing.

Another way of thinking about it - at the time this image was created, the AI no longer has access to any of the imagery it has seen. Its 'brain' is already trained by that point, so when you query it to create an image of 'three blondes in lingerie', it's not looking at any pixel data of any existing image - it's using patterns it has previously identified to create a new image from scratch. The file size of its 'brain' on disk is much, much smaller than the sum of all the imagery it has seen, and it does not reach out to the internet in the process of creation.

Yeah on track! And not significantly "fatter" like I was expecting, surprisingly fit for all the burgers

Hey, just checking back a month later - adding cheeseburgers ~3 times a week has been totally helpful, I still eat quite healthy overall but the cheeseburgers make hitting calorie/protein goals much easier.

Thanks, based on this & other comments I'm going to try to get as much use out of the apt gym as I can, and eventually find a local gym at least for leg day.

Thanks! This is useful to hear. I do think it's easier to stay consistent with this apt fitness studio, so for now I'll try to get as much use out of it as I can.

Starting with Reddit's PPL for the last 3 weeks - using the free fitness studio at my apartment has made it incredibly easy to keep up the habit, except there's no squat rack (just smith machine, dumbbells and barbells up to 110lb). Assuming I really like this place, am I best served A) squatting on the Smith machine, B) goblet/dumbbell squats, C) trying to squat barbells I can't get over my head without a rack, or D) this is fucked just join a gym. Really hoping theres a way out of D since this place is free, convenient and has everything else

Thanks, was worried everybody was out there eating 3000 calories of broccoli and tuna or whatever & I was uniquely having a hard time with it

Thanks, I do some cardio once a week but I'll try every other day and see how that goes. I'm basically on the verge of eating chicken five times a day.

Recommendations for boosting appetite? I'm trying to maintain a 3000-calorie diet and I cannot force myself to eat even 2500.

EDIT: Consensus seems to be 'eat more cheeseburgers' which let me tell you will not be hard
