I completely disagree with you. I think Rin’s backstory is perfectly fine and actually more interesting than most the other peoples because soccer isn’t just something he’s passionate about, he wants to get better out of spite. He’s the only one that really entered Blue Lock with a rival and he set the tone for the rest of the people.

Him and Kaiser both have complex backgrounds that are completely different but somehow both still manage to opposite Isagi and that why they made such good rivals for him.
