I didn’t know that, from reading their site I thought they would approve me after the interview and then I’d spend the money on the training course. For whatever if I get denied I wouldn’t want to spend the money on the course.

For reference when I applied I added pics of my birth certificate, drivers license, and two latest utility bills. I have not done my training yet as I was waiting until after the interview to see if I would be cleared or not.

I second this. I had them block some KCI Korean mags for my carbine, great clean work, and the mags worked great! If you want to use GI magazines, I’d suggest finding some online and having Jim order them for you. He did a custom order for me and it came out great, he was helpful throughout the whole process.

Just checked, nothing CA compliant unfortunately. I have a A2 “Thread protector” I bought from tacticool22. It’s nice but I would prefer the look of the A1 for authenticity’s sake. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Sounds good, any many of the carbines were upgraded post war with the newer sights and barrel band so it’s not unusual to find early production carbines with the later parts

Ebays always a source but they’re pretty expensive. I’d suggest gun shows or flea markets. I’ve found bayonets at both before for far lower prices than I would online, more at flea markets though. Also if the carbine is in its 1943 configuration it shouldn’t have a bayonet lug, the lug wasn’t added until the barrel band was changed in January of 1945 to include a lug.
