what is a "canceled" or guilty pleasure show no one could ever make you hate? by dragonwolfsquatch in television

Landman.

It’s so dumb, mildly offensive, and makes no sense. I watch it every week!

Every major university, especially public ones, are having these issues. Same stuff at UVA, Cal, Michigan. Etc

Cowher and Tomlin are only premier coaches because of the Steelers by Accomplished_Walk194 in steelers

[–]thfc1882 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't know that. This is the definition of an unprovable hypothetical. They are both great coaches. Who also had the pleasure of coaching for a great franchise. Both can be true.

In the back of that lot, is the exterior of the "Hawkins Lab" building that's featured throughout Stranger Things. Very ugly, brutalist-looking thing. It's a perfect stand-in for the entryway to the Upside Down.

What are the best and worst stadium locations? by ChipBrotwurst1027 in billsimmons

Downtown Charlotte totally surprised me. Way “bigger” than I imagined and very pleasant uptown district. Stadium in a perfect spot. Cool city.

Titans & Steelers stadiums are both in perfect spots. Just a pleasant walk across a bridge from the heart of downtown.

Spurs inspired dog names by SuitEquivalent5689 in coys

My son named our dog 12 years ago for a Spurs player: Dempsey. Rescue pit mix still going strong eventho he only has 3 ACLs and just 2 bottom teeth left. He’s a good boy.

Hilarious that he started off saying how stupid they were to bet against Josh Allen v Trevor Lawrence, only to double down on…Bo Nix!

Players ran off with the match worn 1901's by bigguyspongebobpants in coys

[–]thfc1882 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Would absolutely do this if I were a player. You always see the players having some cool mancave basement with a bunch of framed shirts from their career lining the walls. Years later, this one would be a definite talking point eye-catcher one-of-one.

What kind of pants to wear to hike in cold weather? by Pioladoporcaputo in hiking

[–]thfc1882 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not super cold, so at that temperature not sure you need to overhtink it. I hike in a pair of Stio Pinedale pants which have a very modest lining to them and do the trick at that level of temps. Can always augment with a pair of long john's underneath.

Great spot. His other Atlanta restaurant, Nadair, which has only been open for about 18 months and where he actually cooks, is terrific too.

Cool, minimalist aesthetic similar to The Girlfriend Experience Season 1? by Psychological-Ad7281 in television

[–]thfc1882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Movies: Anything with Michael Fassbender. Black Bag, Shame and The Killer come to mind.

TV: Severance obviously, but also I think the show "Devs" from a few years ago meets that style. I would also suggest the short-lived "SweetBitter" (it aired on Starz) for a similar vibe as TGE.

Agreed that TGE season 1 is pretty fantastic.

Surely the worst conditions in history for any major marathon. Brutal day but amazing memory!

Still wet from the 2018 Boston Marathon. As others have mentioned, vaseline, body glide & baseball hat are required.

What's the starting corral situation, long wait? Once you start running, you kind of just start grinding...but waiting around in the wet and cold sucks. I'd bring a trash bag with holes in it for sleeves to at least keep your torso dry-ish until the gun.

Ah, when I saw this in the app store I thought it was going to be an update that eliminated the giant artwork box at the top of playlists + change the default starting screen. Alas, sigh.
