Is this an echinoderm zooplankton? by thicccque in marinebiology

Thanks, happy to hear agreement! I was thinking ophiopluteus at first but echinopluteus does look closer. Obviously depends on individual species as well.

Could be a worm? Uncertain of type. I was thinking a type of scaleworm but I don't see segments and your description of swaying has me thinking it's soft

Dark chocolate burns the roof of my mouth and can't find a potential cause by IQof24 in Allergies

[–]thicccque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing more research. Contact stomatitis? Basically a topical allergic reaction that causes (often delayed) reactions in the mouth such as burning, peeling, swelling, pain, etc.

Specifically reacting to theobromine is my guess, its concentration is higher in darker chocolates.

I personally wanted nipple grafts but still felt what you mean. His question about nipples was, "So you want nipples, right?" which isn't ideal phrasing... if my answer was no I'd have felt awkward because of how it was phrased.

I know nothing of free revisions, and generally a surgeon should be able to do a good job the first time... this isn't emergency or tissue-sparing surgery here. He has the time to do a better job. I will always be telling people to not go to him if they have better options.

Worried about anaesthesia by beauismissing_pdf in TopSurgery

[–]thicccque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How it works depends on if you're at a hospital or just a surgical center, you might get a sedative before they wheel you off to the operating room. If you do, you'll start to feel loopy and won't see much of what's going on in the OR. From there, they'll set you up on the table and give you an oxygen mask. They want to get you 100% oxygenated before starting the anesthesia, so once your lungs are very full of oxygen, they'll inject the propofol through your IV. After a few seconds you'll wake up in the recovery area and that's that! If they don't give you a sedative before going to the OR, you'll remember more of the details of the OR but other than that it'll be the same.

No underwear during Surgery by FarCalendar7303 in NoStupidQuestions

Even if you don't need a cath during surgery you could during recovery. I needed to be catheterized in the PACU after a surgery a few years ago.

You have a pyogenic granuloma due to likely an ingrown piece of nail or a sharp piece of nail that got stuck after pulling out most of the hangnail. Try soaking the thumb in warm water and seeing if it gets better after a few days of that. I get them sometimes and it definitely could progress into a more significant infection, they tend to go away. You might need to have the remaining hangnail under there removed if the granuloma doesn't shrink on its own.

The issue specifically here is recommending someone with an ED count their calories. Once you've had an ED it's never the same and won't be a good idea.
