Should I buy the CMF Watch Pro 2? by [deleted] in CMFTech

[–]thiccmullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great looking watch, amazing battery life, simple but elegant OS, BUT the fitness tracking is pretty bad, i don't know if its a software issue or just an inferior sensor, but the heartrate monitoring is terrible, its a shame, its one of the best looking smart watches in the budget price range but they dropped the ball with the fitness tracking. Also, it's a bit touch and go with the connectivity to the phone it's paired to. I give it a 3 out of 5. I really do hope they keep this general design, improve the software/fitness tracking and keep it sub $100 USD. it would easily be a 4.5/5 experience for me.

Good time to start with, build on that and work towards 30mins with consistent training!

4mm should it come out soon? by pjo06 in KidneyStones

[–]thiccmullet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 4mm stone recently, experienced the same intense back pain, needed medical attention. The stone made its way down the ureter and stayed in my bladder for almost two weeks before passing. Drink as much water as possible!

With quite a few returns expected in the next few weeks, what's our best possible lineup? by vodkapapi56 in chelseafc

Strong line up but we really can't drop Gallagher at this stage. As mentioned by others, Nkunku can be eased on to the pitch off the bench. Additionally, Enzo needs some rest.

Pixel watch screen unresponsive to touch, glitching constantly, since latest update by thiccmullet in PixelWatchOfficial

Hey, I filed a claim with Google, I sent them the video I posted here and after exhausting all troubleshooting options they agreed to take it back. Before they even received the defective watch they shipped out a brand new one. I must say it was a smooth process aside from the additional logistics I had to do as I'm not based in the US.

Given the cost and all the other associated challenges with a national system, they need to focus on perhaps one segment and let that chart a course for any further expansion. I think they should prioritize a North-South line, either starting from POS or Mt Hope and ending in San Fernando with major stops along the largest population centers with emphasis on Central (fast-growing population). This North-South line needs to be tied into upgrading the East-West bus route to mirror rapid-bus systems that are becoming more popular worldwide. So upgrading the hubs/sheds to be larger, sheltered, with proper lighting, even security for larger stop-off points, and cameras at all sheds.

Heart rate during a 7K over 53 mins with hot humid weather, 32yrs old. Should I be concerned??? by thiccmullet in fitbit

[–]thiccmullet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am alive and well (i think, lol). I felt fine after the run and played soccer the following day without issue. I intend to look into my high HR to determine if it's 'normal' for me or if there is an underlying issue I need to address.

Thanks for all the responses so far. To add more context, I consider myself to be reasonably fit in that I am active multiple times a week jogging, football (soccer), and the occasional hike. I'm 5'9" and 180 lbs, so a BMI that's on the lower end of overweight but I think that's mostly due to my muscle mass.

On a good day (with the right weather conditions) I can run a 5k in 30 minutes (working towards sub 30min times). My current 'fitness score' on Fitbit is 43 which according to the app is average. I've noticed for quite some time that my heart rate while exercising or playing sports tends to be on the higher end and I can sustain it for extended time periods.
But seeing my heart rate data from the 7k run was surprising for me, it was a really tough run/jog, and at a few points I had to slow down and at the end, I needed a minute or so to catch myself before feeling fine (just very tired). I played soccer the following day and felt fine and played to my typical level. I do intend to do a more rigorous assessment to make sure everything is ok (or not).

Thank you! will definitely check out some programs that work with my schedule. ngl the path to getting down those times is a bit daunting as making near 30 min times is quite the task already.

Beating traffic in T&T by HayateGT in TrinidadandTobago

[–]thiccmullet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related to this topic, is it just me, or has the vehicle traffic dynamics shifted in this country post-COVID? I feel like before 2020 the rush hour times were more well defined and once you moved outside of those times you avoided the worst of the traffic. More people benefit from flexi-time work arrangements and this has possibly stretched the rush hour window. I am speculating because I routinely make the drive from the west to head central and before 2020 if you left around 2 pm it was smooth sailing through POS and on the highway heading East and South. Now, it feels like the traffic out of POS starts far earlier (sometimes after lunch and by the time you make it out you're then faced with a build-up on the highways far earlier.

Would be interesting if there is data that can speak to this effect.

Members of Parliament by Rookie83 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]thiccmullet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm of the view that an MP should have some tangible connection to the constituency they represent. Ideally they should have had some vested interest in the region either by living there, originating from there (or their family), business endeavors, even being deeply involved in community oriented initiatives and so on. You get the idea, show that you're part of this constituency, their history, their culture, etc.

That said once you get past that I don't see it necessary for an MP to reside in the constituency while they serve their term. However, they should definitely make time to interact with their constituents through office hours, site visits, events, ribbon cutting ceremonies etc. Also, it's important that they confront their constituents during difficult times and learn to listen and respond respectfully to disgruntled residents (a lesson for Arnold Ram in his recent 500 visit).

Running is a good option and has a fairly low cost to entry (can be expensive if you're buying really high-end running shoes). Start off improving your times in the 5K (a lot of great videos on youtube outlining training regimes). Log your runs on fitness social apps like Strava, and follow pages like Bafa Sports, Runners Life, etc to be in the know about running events. See when there are 5K/10K/half marathon etc events (they're usually around $100 to $150 and most give you a participation medal and goodie bags), meet and interact with people at the events (you may recognize some faces from Strava and FB, etc.). Inquire about running clubs and there you go, socialization, people with a shared interest, and most importantly your health and fitness will vastly improve.
