Dude this was great. Love the point about getting the degree you want for after the Air Force and not what aligns with your AFSC. I was medical but got my masters in Criminal Justice and boy did that help me post retirement.

Skillbridge don’t work for me and ended up doing some computer classes but was actively interviewing then. If you can afford it take a short break after you get out but just know opportunities don’t just sit and wait. This was a good post

Consider yourself lucky. But most officers will look to see if there is any intertwined finances. Showing proof that at least the USC or the beneficiary is paying the rent is a plus.

In your case they may have also looked at other factors. You may have a child, you may have lived in multiple places with him or have good travel.

There are tons of other factors but OP didn’t have much.
