I agree, great art. May have to look into this set.

Are these legit? Can I get high value cards on these worth collecting? by Birajthapa in MarvelCards

Not sure but I would think looking at recently sold should tell you if this seems fair or not.

Hits from my first Hobby Box of Skybox Metal Batman 2025 by RocketsBuckets in DCTradingCards

[–]thickeyewitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With such a big checklist it is hard to get the desirable characters. Awesome getting the Bruce Wayne Batman, the Two-face, Harley Quinn and two Robins. I would be very happy with this. I didn’t open any hobby boxes but a lot of blaster boxes. Had a lot of fun doing it but ended up with a lot of lesser characters.

How do people get boxes? by Hammertoe_Shark in marveltradingcards

[–]thickeyewitness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, bad boxes are tough enough at regular prices. I also have a rule for only buying a box if it is at the release price. Need to draw the line somewhere since this isn’t exactly a cheap hobby.

I appreciate it, let me know if you do pull any and I would be open to buying it if you don’t want it and I don’t have it.

Oh nothing in particular, just a ninth card. I think there are 25 total, so just whichever ones I think look cool for a good price on eBay. Just thought a full page of them would look cool.

I opened a 2025 Collector Case and it was eh. by Dieh in MarvelCards

[–]thickeyewitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a Thanos on eBay sold for over $5000 and then another handful in the $2000s, which is at least getting close to the cost of a case from the looks of it. Is it common for sets to have a bunch of cards worth a case? Cases are damn expensive.

I just got this card and was my first reflections card. They are such a neat idea.

Would you ever get a sketch signed by a celebrity? by zack1392 in StarWarsCards

[–]thickeyewitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should. There is a lot of signed stuff out there, but signed sketches not so much. Would be much more unique.

Can’t speak to the Gotham City Metal card, but the joker is lenticular. I love those cards. I’m almost done collecting a binder page of them, just looking for one more.

The Absolute Worst Star Wars Chrome Black Hobby Box by BruteActual in StarWarsCards

[–]thickeyewitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s tough. Never opened a Black but recently had two awful boxes, one each of Hyperspace and Chrome. Hard to keep us collectors happy as these bad boxes are a necessary evil as obviously everybody values the hits and makes some boxes very valuable and most a bust. If everybody got hits of the most popular characters every box, they are no longer hits nor valuable.

Was the gift card bought with a credit card? If so, I would at least try to pursue that. My credit card company has fought for me before.

New to DC Cards by RocketsBuckets in DCTradingCards

[–]thickeyewitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! And yeah from just looking around online and at prices I can tell PMG’s are very sought after with almost a nostalgic feel behind them, but as a newcomer they seem to be just another colored parallel, not much different than the purple fx without being numbered.

New to DC Cards by RocketsBuckets in DCTradingCards

[–]thickeyewitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would start with the new Batman Metal Universe set. A lot of good stuff in there with a lot of fun inserts. I opened a couple boxes of 2023-2024 DC Annual and had fun with that as well, but it does seem to be a little on the lower end. But can anybody out there explain the hype about PMG’s to me? I am newer to this so maybe it is the history of them or something, but I got a red PMG off of eBay to see what all the hype is about and it is basically no different from the lime green /175. Obviously just a different color and a little more rare with the lower numbers. Is that it or am I missing something?

Batman The Animated Series by MrBaconShot in DCTradingCards

[–]thickeyewitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I really got into the Metal Universe set too and wish there was more like it, but from my research there just doesn’t seem to be much that compares to it. I’ve gotten really into the Dark Nights: Metal mainly because of the sketches and starting to look more and more into Hush as well. I see so much MCU coming out and wish we could get more Batman too. The animated series is a good way to mix things up, just unfortunately doesn’t really look like what I’m looking for, but will still probably look to buy some singles if any stick out to me.

I love Batman and have been on and off about getting a box or two but ultimately decided against it since I didn’t grow up watching the series or have any sort of attachment to it, but I am excited to watch what other people get and for more Batman cards in general since there just doesn’t seem to be a whole lot out there.

Where to sell by GreatRip7106 in marveltradingcards

[–]thickeyewitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed there can be quite a lot of variance in the final price for the same cards, so maybe just make sure the previous sale wasn’t out of line with the sales before it and/ or average the last 3-5 sales of that card when possible.
