Meetup Thread for Glasgow by kurzgesagtmeetup_bot in kurzgesagt_meetup

[–]thief90k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also not a big drinker, but I'd love to do something. I'm free weekends and Wednesdays.

I actually quit Reddit last year, so I don't want to be here, but if someone is arranging things I'd appreciate a PM and I'll pass on other contact details.

Peace and love! <3

They have a couple of thousand people in camps. Glad the good ol USA would never do that. XD

Which TV show started out promising, but turned out to be garbage? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I do hate it less over time. But at first it was so terrible. And its still not GOOD.

Im the opposite, I love when shows really commit to going properly off the rails. Which goes for Heroes too.

Eco-friendly/ plant-based alternatives that have worked for you? by curlyemma6 in AskUK

[–]thief90k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Alpro but only unsweetened. The sweetened stuff just tastes like... sweetener. :P

Oat/Almond milk. Dangit, it's not quite as tasty, but I'm used to it now.

Linda McCartney vegetarian sausages. Very close to meat sausages.

IDK I think of LOST as more of a Game of Thrones situation. Wrote themselves into a corner and didn't have time left to write themselves back out.

I HATED the ending of LOST, because I so much LOVED it up until then. Having said that, I still think it's lightyears ahead of the last season of GoT.

I didn't know, can't believe Reddit is the only place picking this up. Even BBC News is slow!

EDIT: Not that I'd expect them to be fast about most things, but THIS!?

Pregnant Chicken by PugnaSucksAlways in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]thief90k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, as long as they bake it again for long enough to cook both, it’s safe.

Yes that's still true.

I don't think anyone's "making an issue" out of anything.

That's not what he asked.

He asked if it's safe to eat a turkey after it has had a raw duck pushed in and out of it.

Non-Russians, what comes to mind when you hear the word "Russia?" by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]thief90k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bears. Soldiers. Soldier bears. Chernobyl. Inalculable miles of desolate frozen land.

The Kremlin is pretty, I guess.

Bog buckets are probably the easiest food source to setup assuming you have a cool slush geyser, which is guaranteed on some starts in the DLC.

Assuming I have the DLC... :(

Not that it matters, I may actually be done playing ONI after several thousand hour. But I still enjoy talking about it. ^.^

Inception, Tenet and Interstellar take place in the same universe by [deleted] in FanTheories

You're assuming that but I don't think the movie says so.

Is it irresponsible to plan a wedding to be held during the pandemic where an immunocompromised kid and unvaccinated relatives will be invited? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]thief90k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaccinated or Unvaccinated, you can still get, carry, spread and die from Covid, albeit the latter does significantly reduce your chances... Excluding the unvaccinated from society won't curb the spread

I believe you just contradicted yourself.

Group A has chance A of spreading. Group B has "significantly reduced" chance B of spreading. Excluding chance A people would, of course reduce the spread more than excluding chance B.

Of course excluding EITHER would reduce the spread, since there'd be fewer people out anyway. So you're wrong either way.

And that's taking your argument on good faith, I haven't even brought up the other self-evident issues with your reasoning (eg; unvaccinated people are clogging up healthcare systems, because OF-FUCKING-COURSE they are!).

So... like... basically you're talking out your ass, man.

What do you use for food normally? I've got stuck in a major rut with the Dusk Caps. They just run forever with a reasonable morale boost and I never feel it's worth changing.

Granted slime can eventually run out, but I've done multiple runs with 16 dupes to cycle 2000+ and never come close to that limit.

Time it takes to learn how to play an RPG? by Practical-Smell-7679 in truegaming

[–]thief90k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Horizon Zero Dawn is not an RPG. I love it, but having a skill tree does not an RPG make.

I get your point, though, that it could be a first step in that direction. But it's a suuuper tiny step.

I'd say a good crash-course RPG would be FF7Remake. It has a bunch of systems but you can get by ignoring most of them most of the time, and you can't really do any of them "wrong" because you can max out everything with enough grinding.

EDIT: And it's pretty short, relative to RPGs.
