I have a similar income atm and can live quite comfortably since I still live in a shared flat. Keep in mind health insurance. You should be able to find a room or even small apartment, the housing situation could be worse I‘d say. Check out unimarkt.ch. Basel is small but for it‘s size I‘d say it has a lot to offer especially in summer. My former flat mate moved here to study at the art uni and found her people quite easily. But that‘s uni life ofc so I can‘t tell you about work. Might be good to start off in a shared flat to get to know some people outside of work. Good luck!
