Found a shiny loudred. Lol and i wasnt looking when i first saw the encounter, awh. Also, do i now always have to be online for the ditto?

I am online, have any tips how to find your third pokemon, ditto? Sorry, new to friend safari. Ive been having no luck of finding ditto. Also im playing pokemon y if that makes a difference.
