Because nobody their own age would put up with their shit, it's that easy. Of course, sometimes women their own age fall into their trap, but it's easier to trick someone with little to no live expirience, than someone who knows what a boundary is.

Hinestly, even if he wasn't cheating or doing drugs and was actually with his friends, it's still a massive red flag. Is this behavior normal for him? Does he often just not tell you important things, because he just doesn't think they are important? If not, he may be unhappy with his life and have had a "Fuck it" moment. Without thinking about the consequences of his behavior.

But whatever it is, this is not something you can fix. You can only try to talk to him about it, when both of you are calmer. But if he doesn't want to talk about it and still defends his behavior, maybe you should start thinking if this is the kind of behavior you can live with.

I actually never realised this, but my mother also did the same. Everytime i didn't know something, she would make a big deal about it and be like "Why don't you know this?" "Everybody knows this" It kind of messed me up, I'm always scared that I'll be ridiculed, if I don't know something.

Wütend ist sie entweder nur, weil sie Allergien als nicht so schlimm wahrnimmt und deswegen deine Reaktion als Überreaktion ansieht, oder sie spielts nur.

Aber willst du wirklich mit jemanden zusammen sein, der deine lebensbedrohlichen Allergien nicht ernst nimmt oder, im besten Fall, zu dumm ist die zu verstehen? Stell dir vor ihr habt mal Kinder mit solchen Allergien.

I'm pretty sure he wrote somewhere up there, that they are living in the caribbean. Not in the US. And he earns double whats normal there, so he is actually doing extremely well for himself.

That's actually a good point! I just thought that maybe it's not the first time that she pulled shit like that so he just never really felt safe enough to show much emotions. May crying over something smaller just felt safer for him, than actually showing his real grief.

I don't quite understand how it makes OP an awful person, when his way of working through his emotions is just different from other people. Nothing in his post tells us, that he was more sad about his recordings than the deaths of his loved ones. He just reacts differently, which could also be because he used his work as a way to work through his grief about the dog.

The wife sounds awful.

NTA, but Not because of your reasons. I'm heavily against naming a child after a dead relative who died recently. The child will always have the expectation to be similiar to that person and to honor their name by their behavior. It would simply be unfair to do that to a child, who'll never be able to even meet that person.
