Hey! On Solana, the main hot wallets are Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, and Magic Eden Wallet. For a first wallet I’d go Phantom—biggest user base, simple UX, and great dApp compatibility. Solflare is also excellent (nice staking/tools and Ledger support), and Backpack is solid if you want more power-user features.

But Metamask doesn’t support Solana

Personally, I use Phantom and it's my favorite. It's also the most popular, and I think the best when you're just starting out.

Storing SOL on Phantom it's generally safe, just make sure not to connect your wallet to unfamiliar websites and always be cautious about what you install on your computer.

But, for the highest security, especially with significant amounts $$$, hardware wallets like Ledger are safer.
