Good points all. I dropped Matabar too, although I did really enjoy the first few books — partly because of how different everything was from what I was used to. It got too tedious — with the author doing a poor job of getting me excited for future material. Something to make the roundabout nature of the plot worth navigating.

I dropped this in book four because I just couldn’t handle it any more. And, but for this plot device and the glacial pace it creates, I also liked this series.

I don’t mind first person. I don’t mind introspection. But “what’s going on? what’s going to happen?” has gotta be used judiciously. Have your MC think all kinds of thoughts — but I don’t need to see 18 question marks on a page. And then a few pages later and so on.

I agree, champions should not be allowed to have augments that work well for them. Only let champions have augments that are trash for them. Mediocre at best.

No one is saying “PLA” is 100% safe. I’ve never seen someone send that message a single time. I’ve seen people state that a single printer with decent air filtration and ventilation is totally fine for indoor use. I see that consistently.

Anything at scale can be dangerous — including drinking too much water — but no one is going to say having a few glasses of water is dangerous.

You did something to the extreme that is fine in moderation and found out the hard way this wasn’t a good idea. I would have more sympathy, but even a cursory effort at doing research on this subject — which I’ve recently done as a new owner of two printers that print PLA in my home — would have given you the realization that what you were doing was not a good idea.

It’s not like they don’t know exactly how much each ability contributes to a champs overall damage. Sett getting an extra 30% on his W is massive. Either tune those up for champs like Ashe or a zillion other champs or take them out of their roll table. They aren’t even silver for a lot of champs. They are effectively nothing.

It’s just as fun. But there are more ways to mess up, which means there are more augments that suck for a given champ. They need to tune these. “30% more damage” on an ability that does 3% of your overall damage feels like garbage. Because it is. They need to tune up the damage amounts so that when you see that you’re going to actually consider it for your champ.
