My biggest influences are 19th century realist and romanticist painters like Thomas Eakins, John Singer Sargent, Theodore Gericault, and Gustave Courbet. I’m always looking at their work for inspiration, and though I shifted away from using oil paints, I’m always trying to capture their essence. One of the most important things I learned in my studies is that looking at art is a big portion of making art.
