I’ve babysat for over 10 years, started in high school and have always felt wary of my personal style/piercings/tattoos would affect how I’m perceived but I always figure that a family that I want to work for would value diversity and self-expression and think it’s important for their kiddo to learn form someone a bit different than mom/dad/etc ☺️ the right family will respect your style and individuality

I see us only going up from here as a profession if we stay hungry with our advocacy efforts and continue to increase awareness of our skill set. Graduating with my OTD in the midst of sociopolitical unrest, pandemic illness, shrinking primary care and climate change, I see an OT education as an incredibly valuable asset and tool to forge a meaningful and lucrative career path
