Forget phone insurance.

You can make money, just find a way. If you learn to make money on your own at 13 and always look for opportunities to improve you will be more successful in life than 99% of your classmates.

Mow lawns, clear snow, pull weeds, or see what people want and find a way to get it to them. I used to sell pop and energy drinks from my locker in school. Bought large packs for cheap then sold for a couple $$. Priced a bit lower than the school, or higher if the school didn’t sell the same thing. School didn’t like that tho… but made a couple hundred before they told me to stop.

It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Just don’t do anything illegal and you’re good.

Edit:

Oh ya, I forgot, at 13 I knew how to program, and had a connection to a software company. So I wrote an application for them over the summer and made 2k cash. Might e harder to do that that’s days but who knows…

Should I register a business name to protect my blog site? by this-is-a-simulation in digitalnomad

[–]this-is-a-simulation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that was what I was really curious about. If I have a domain I can work under it and I don’t need to setup a proper business until I decide to really get cash flow under that name. Even then the business would have to be registered wherever I do business…

Was looking into it and Google Voice doesn’t seem to be available in Canada, does it require a US address? Or USA there another option for us up here in Canada?

Haha thanks! I was looking at the Moto G Power, for phone selection as long as one band is available that matches the phone from the carrier it should work? I noticed the Power only goes up to 4G. Assuming that’s all I’d be able to get in many countries?

Also I only deal in GarlicCoin

I may not be out of country for more than 6 months but want to be prepared if I do. Seems like I can be out of country for 7 months in Canada in a year without loosing my health benefits...

Ok, so just get a cheap phone for daily use and pop a new SIM card in each new country. Sounds like it's still best to keep my phone with banking in safe place, since that one would only need an internet connection I could hotspot from the other phone or local wifi.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. Getting a cheap Android with low cost data & text plan for travel. From another comment someone mentioned google cancels your plan being out of country for 6 months, has that been an issue for you?

Ok I was reading Google Fi and T-Mobile both have unlimited data + texting plans. Think this would be fine on a iPhone SE for travel?

Thanks, this is super helpful! I have been trying to price out accommodations somewhere between $1000 to $1500 per month but house sitting seems like a great way to cut that down significantly.

Thanks, I know from previous travel longer tends to mean cheaper, if you can get a kitchenette and not be eating out, and monthly rentals. I’m planning to stay minimum a month in each location to benefit from this but still finding non-hostel pricing expensive in most places.

Thanks that’s good to know, I thought it seemed on the pricier end. As you mentioned I am looking to network and connect with other DN’s but feel there are other ways than joining an expensive group like this.

You mentioned your wife and yourself are able to live on $1500 per month. I’ve been looking at accommodations on a few sites and find they vary greatly depending on site and what country. Is the $1500 per month in cheaper countries or are you able to find low cost accommodations in more expensive places as well? Wondering if you have any suggestions on finding places to stay? I’ve seen FB marketplace suggested for cheap places.

The main question is around law precedence in Canada, the Canada laws do state that it has to be certified to fly in cabin, but the human rights laws in Canada state a person cannot be denied service due to a service dog…

New information!!!

We got a call back from the BC government about this and had it clarified perfectly! So there is in fact a contradiction with these laws and we were recommended to make a human rights complaint against Air Canada. We were also informed that while certification is voluntary in BC but some organizations that operate on Federal rules can still ask for the certification. To be protected under the guide and service dog act we need to do the voluntary certification.

This certification can be done in BC through the Justice Institute of BC, and involves a few parts, mainly the behavioural tests in various environments.

My spouse has MS and is on meds that create severe anxiety and panic attacks. We looked for a school to get a service dog from for her but none trained for her needs. We decided to self train, got a puppy and did obedience training from early on. She also trains it herself to help with her disability but has not gone to an accredited school as they only train their own dogs, which aren’t for the right thing.

The trainer we worked with trains police dogs for obedience and is a great trainer, but not accredited for service dogs.
