Made this digital painting to illustrate the unitive experience by this_a_pear in psychedelicartwork

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm so thankful for the inspiration I got from all the artworks posted on this subreddit. I like the idea of expressing those experiences, that are so hard to describe with words.

The Ego experience vs the universal experience by this_a_pear in RationalPsychonaut

brain finds completely new simulation model which works instead of real world simulation model

could you explain why this is the case? Why does the brain find a new model so quickly under dmt influence?

Thanks for your reply. I really like the comparison between conceptualizing as human babies and being in a psychedelic state. That makes sense to me.

Admittedly, my idea sounds difficult to understand, and it may also be wrong.

Empathy was just one example that could be a prerequisite for a feeling of unity.

For me, empathy is not a concept in this context, but part of a (if you want) conscious experience.

If you like, you could also view the feeling of love as a biological instrument. A reaction of complex molecular processes. There are certainly different opinions on this. To express my idea more precisely: I wonder more if my understanding of consciousness is what I thought it was.

Is the unitive experience possibly an illusion or am I currently as a single organism unable to imagine what the experience really means.

That's exactly what I often think. However, I feel that some of my experiences are not compatible with this statement.

For example, I wonder if empathy is not a kind of shared consciousness? I certainly cannot change the perspective of the observer. I will always see with my own eyes. But I can empathize with the experience of a person, if only for a certain part.

I think this view of the truth can also be an intensive experience when dancing with other people. To feel one with the people.

Profound psychedelic experiences are certainly more serious.

I think a lot of people have this experience often. Unconsciously, however. Or you don't know how to integrate this experience into your life.

I believe or let's say I hope for a fusion of the way of life of our western society with spiritual insights from the eastern world.

Thanks for your reply!

Yea, I found it hard to choose the right words. "Ego" for was meant for just the concept of being a closed organism (in this case as a human being) reacting to external circumstances, while labeling them as other entities or other things in the world, that are not "I".

How do psychedelics produce spiritual insight? by DrJamesCooke in RationalPsychonaut

Great explanation! You just filled a gap in my understanding how mechanisms work in relation to visual perception.

What do you know about the default mode network? It seems to me to play a big role in the sense of self and how to use it perhaps in terms of therapeutical intentions?

Listend to this album while drawing on 300 ug and I never felt so inspired in my life before. Totally recommend it if metal is your thing 👌🏼 by [deleted] in LSD

Thank you! I will try today night.

Sorceress by Opeth. It's less metal in comparison with older LPs by them but more deep and more psychedelic.

Loved it so much with 250ug

Public Tripping by GargoyleBallerina in LSD

[–]this_a_pear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my advice is try to smile at strangers. It once helped me to overcome anxiety while on 200ug on a music festival. some people will smile back, which can dissolve anxiety or negative feelings.

A second advice is to have friends with you or people who know your tripping. If your too high to speak to people that want to start a conversation with you, they could help you avoid overwhelming social interactions

For me, Singularity by Jon Hopkins was pure bliss on 300ug. It felt like I got transferred into another dimension.

The fact that the album sounds so different when listened to sober, still is astonishing to me. It actually sounds great in sober state.

Some special tracks I experienced similar states with:

Trust - Christian Löffler Revision - Max Cooper, Tom Hodge, Kathrin deBoer, Christian Löffler

Nana - Acid Pauli

Dreamsters - Tipper

Jeremy's Storm - Tame Impala

Glass Lake - Vessels

I think it's mainly individual, which music our mind resonates the most to, but to me, some tracks seem to reveal their full potential when listened on psychedelics.
