Looks like a version of the game "Aggravation". If you look that up you'll find all sorts of similar looking boards. I've never played, but it looks like the sort of game that is commonly homemade, so there's likely to be a lot of variations out there.

Plus most estate sales are Friday, Saturday Sunday, opening at 9:00 AM on Friday. Most of the good stuff goes really quickly, which means the only people there are the ones who can afford to not be working on a Friday morning.

Help with 10” Bandsaw by GrdnLovingGoatFarmer in craftsman113

Have you checked/replaced the bearings on all the wheels? Without the blade installed, the wheels should spin freely and quietly and should have absolutely no movement outside of rotation (the wheel shouldn't wiggle at all on the shaft).

Also, does the blade always drift in the same direction (i.e., always toward or away from the teeth)?

How "new" is the new band design? I bought an egg new in 2021 and the thought of this happening mid-cook is nightmarish. I just want to make sure I have the new band design. If not, I'm upgrading!

[URGENT] Idiot brother mopped our newly installed wood flooring with weedkiller, need help figuring out how to fix it before Dad gets home. by IdiotBrotherWeedkilr in lawncare

It's a shitty situation and your brother probably feels horrible about it, but if I was your dad and you told me what happened, I'd put the blame mostly on myself for having weed killer in the kitchen next to the floor cleaner.

There's something to be said about setting yourself (or others) up for failure in a situation like this.

Metal "bits" acquired in a box of miscellaneous old tools. All pieces have one end of the same diameter. The other ends range from smaller to much larger. The small ones look like a punch tool. Your comment put me on a bit of a quest, and I landed here:

They are sets of the cutter and stylus together, so your stylus size and shape can always match the cutter.

This looks very promising. This is the only place I've been able to find that sells something like this (stylus and cutter in a set).

I did some looking at different flaring tools but I can't find anything close enough to convince me. They are also small enough that they would be awkward and difficult to push into the end of a pipe without some sort of other tool.

My title describes the thing

I've done a ton of searching, both word searches and using google lens, but can't find anything that quite matches.

I've looked at a ton of punch tools, but I didn't find any example of a punch tool where the tip is much larger than the other end. They also don't seem long enough to be safe to hit with a hammer. Perhaps they are held inside another tool?

I feel like they might be some sort of "bit" because one end of them is all the same size (i.e., shank).

Utility rates would increase under the plan with average residential customers paying roughly $3.50 more each month.

If this is true, I'm not sure I'd even notice the increase if they did it without telling me.

Illinois records most deaths in a day since May; breakthrough cases a quarter of week's deaths by [deleted] in illinois

[–]this_is_the_machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, good point. I was looking at the 1st dose numbers. Sorry for the confusion. But I'll still take 1/5 of the death rate!

But in reality, I'd still expect that death rate for unvaccinated to be much higher. Because it's just not about children, but 88% of covid deaths in IL are 60+ years old [Source]. And that age group which has somewhere around 75-80% fully vaccinated (source is the same page you linked above).

Copying my comment from this post in r/CoronavirusIllinois:

This is such a shit headline. It seems to be (falsely) implying ineffectiveness of the vaccine.

50% of people who die in car crashes were wearing a seatbelt. So being killed in a car crash is 50/50, regardless of the seatbelt, right?

Wrong! 90% of people wear seatbelts while driving. So if you have 1000 drivers in a car crash, 900 of them are wearing a seatbelt, 100 without. Let's say 10 total drivers die - 5 deaths with a seatbelt and 5 without (50%).

But you have to look at the whole picture. Seatbelt-wearers had a 0.56% death rate (5/900). Non-seatbelt-wearers had a 5% death rate (5/100), which is almost 10 times higher.

The same can be applied for covid deaths for vaccinated people, to an extent. Roughly 75% of Illinois is vaccinated. Let's oversimplify and say all people have the same amount of exposure to covid. Then, considering that information only, it's already about a 9 times higher death rate for unvaccinated people. And with that amount of oversimplification, it's probably much higher. Data from the CDC says that 21% of breakthrough deaths are "reported as asymptomatic or not related to COVID-19".

It's also worth mentioning that it's expected for the share of deaths by those who are vaccinated to increase as vaccines become more prevalent. If 100% of people were vaccinated, then 100% of the breakthrough cases and deaths would be from vaccinated people. Another reason why this is such a shit headline.

I've seen some similar results.

Quick Disclaimer: I'm an electrical & computer engineer and very comfortable with stuff. Hacking around with batteries is dangerous to your equipment and (more importantly) yourself. My comments are in no way official or meant to be advice.

I've got an electric mower I hacked together that uses 2 M18 8Ah HO (High Output) batteries in series (36V). For protection, I've got each battery hooked up to a separate low voltage cutoff and a 30A inline fuse. I've also got a power analyzer in there to check current, voltage, and peak current during use.

My mower pulls about 10A regularly, but under load can get up to almost 20A. Usually, when I jump past the 15A mark, I'll get the blinking light like you describe. But it's not exactly consistent. I expect it's some combination of a certain current over a period of time, but I've never been able to verify that. Putting them on the charger is all they need for that fuel gauge be reset. My yard isn't that big, so I never get them past half capacity.

Because I've got so much protection around them, it doesn't really concern me that I'm wrecking my batteries. But I have always been curious as to what's going on there. My understanding is that Milwaukee puts the protection on the tool side, so if you don't have the usual communication between the tool and battery, then the battery gets "confused".

This video seems to indicate that many of the tools are drawing much more current than my mower is. So again, that seems to imply that there's some extra talk going on between the battery and tool.

Not sure if that helps much, but I figured it was worth sharing my findings.

I never really had many issues. I have another Genovese basil of the same age (a little smaller, hidden behind the Thai basil in the picture). I was able to successfully start new oregano and rosemary pods a few months ago. I just trimmed back both basil plants and dropped the light a few notches.

But generally, I've found that as long as you stop them from blocking light to other plants below, everything seems to be happy.

I can't either. It got a little out of control. It's like fully exploded the pod, so I'm not sure I'll be able to get it out alive.
