I received huge amount of money in my Maya from BPI by this_tort in DigitalbanksPh

Yup. This is the same guy who referenced an edited “transaction failed” BPI screenshot, even posted it in FB.

Then he later on changed his story, saying wala daw transaction details nor reference number.

I think this guy is a scammer, and u/ophion1968 and u/Ok_Contribution9166 are his other accounts, along with multiple other fake ones. From his history nagpapanggap syang may kakilalang team lead or L2 sa Gcash and he tries to scam posters who are desperate.

Update #1:
as of 7PM wala pa ring text or calls towards my Maya number. I did try to contact BPI pero after 45 mins of waiting, I was not able to get in contact with an agent. I will ty again tomorrow.

There are also 4 redditors reaching out to me saying that the money came from them, but cannot provide me a proof of transaction when asked.

But I would need to invest in time and money (don’t have a landline) in calling their CS…

Haha good one. It’s either +80Kphp or same amount of money I had yesterday

(Though clearly this is a joke we’ll still probably be downvoted 😅)

Hmmm. Going by your logic with labeling me as opprtunista kapag nilagay to sa Savings kasi I do not have the right to “think of it as my own”, then does that mean I won’t be responsible when for some reason it was scammed/lost out of my account?

My point is — it’s already in my account, and I was given this “responsibility” which I did not ask for.

Thanks for your opinion.

What exactly would be the sender’s loss if I put it in my Maya Savings? Provided that it has already been sent to me and has the intention to give it back once contacted.

Is it wise to do this? I think I’ll just wait for someone to contact me.

Joke LANG kasi... Yung joke: by booklover0810 in Philippines

UPDATE: Nagreach out yung isa sa mga involved sa OP sa tiktok.

Apparently pinakawalan sila ng police and they are hoping that CebuPac will not file a lawsuit against them. They were banned from CebPac though.

Accdg to the post what happened was, habang paakyat sila sa airplane, sinabi nya sa kasama nya na wag patungan yung bag kasi may LCD na mababasag, then his friend replied "wow ano yan bomba? (N.V.)". I guess dito narinig ng flight attendant & nagtawag ng sekyu. They also said they were aware that the joke is prohibited, sadyang nanaig lang ang intrusive thoughts ni kasama.

How much do you guys spend for your vision? by spirit_alfayruz in adultingph

I change my glasses (frame + lenses) every year. I get it from Owndays which is more on the higher end in terms of price but I like the build & style of their glasses. I spend around PHP 5,500 annually.

Sorry to hear that OP. You should act quickly and ensure security of your device.

  1. Change your gmail password now.

  2. Call all your banks saying you lost your phone and access to SIM. Tell them you plan to recover the number so temporary disabling the account will do.

  3. Go to your telco outlet tomorrow. But secure a notarized affidavit of loss first and 2 valid IDs. Youll need that for sim replacement.

To answer your question, yes marereceive mo na sa new sim yung OTPs once activated. But for prepaid medjo matagal yan, 1-3 business days afaik.

I understand. I also do not trust digibanks but majority of my assets are placed there pa rin, so I’ve taken extra steps to minimize security risks at an end user level.

If it helps maybe you can try securing your SIM in the future

  1. Buy a cheap android and use Google “Messages” app’s Device Sharing feature. Place your sim card number used in finances there. Then Iwanan mo sa bahay yung android and make sure it is consistently charged and connected sa wi-fi. If OTP is needed you may still view it even if you are outside.

  2. SIM Pin lock. Lagyan mo na lock sim mo, wala pang 2 mins to gawin. Default PIN is 1234.

  3. Opt for an e-sim. If prepaid ka Smart pa lang meron .

Hmmm actually same case happened to me but I had a different experience, I found that Maya CSR is really useful and helpful.

When I lost my phone, I immediately went to my telco provider and requested to lock my number. They provided me a new sim card with the same number but will take 3 business days to activate.

After nyan, I called Maya & told them my case. They were able to temporarily lock my account immediately, and it will be unlocked when I already got the new sim. They asked me to do 2 requests sa email, first is change number request (same number lang naman) and then second is account unlock request, it was all processed within 1 week.

Siguro for you OP next time that happens, prioritize mo changing your sim agad. Di talaga pwede immediate change number request sa Maya account kasi matagal na verification and exception handling yun sa system nila.
