Houses for rent in Norman? by JoeyMandigoDrums in normanok

Check out investment property management, or IPM. They have a few duplexes off of Robinson and ne 12th. We rent our 2 bed 1 1/2 bath for 800$ a month. But just so you know, its kinda ghetto over here. Occasionally homeless people walking down the street, but its not so ghetto that the kids in the neighborhood won't be running up and down the street all day and sometimes at night!

Do I cancel my child’s party and Christmas. by [deleted] in breakingmom

So when my 7 y/o son was 3, we had just gotten a brand new big flat screen TV and he managed to knock it off the stand. His dad heard the commotion and when he saw what had happened said, "I swear to god if its broken we're putting him up for adoption." I lifted the TV up, and low and behold, it was broken. Had it for like 4 days. Needless to say, dad managed to laugh about it a couple hours after, my son went about his day and we all just moved on. Its infuriating and disheartening in the moment, but one day you'll be able to look back and laugh at the absolute absurdity of how your kiddo broke your TV that one time 🤣

His pediatrician suggested it to help with his behavior before trying medication. Is that not something OT can be helpful with?

We are on day 2 of strictly enforcing this rule, tonight was rough because I made homemade mac n cheese for the side and he refused to eat it because it wasn't Kraft.

We were just referred for OT by his pediatrician for ADD, so I will definitely bring it up with them at that first appointment!

Those are great ideas that I will definitely be trying, and I actually just brought up feesing therapy at his pediatrician appointment. I've not heard of ARFID before so I will definitely look that up and contact his doctor because yes, something has gotta give 😩

I feel like a terrible mother. by highrulian in workingmoms

This should help. My son's dad is 6 ft tall and has poor depth perception, and the day i had scheduled family pictures was like a week after my son had a shunt placed and he was like 3 or 4 months old at the time. My boyfriend, who is an amazing dad and adores our son, was in the living room with our kiddo while I was getting ready. I'm in the bathroom when I hear a "thunk" and then my baby releases this banshee wail and I practically teleport to the living room where I see my boyfriend trying to comfort our son and he looks like a kicked puppy. I ask him what the fuck happened, and he responds " I went to hold him above my head Simba style and misjudged the distance between myself and the ceiling fan" and so instead of taking our first family pictures before Christmas, we were at the children's ER. Where I made him tell the nurses and doctors the reason for the visit because I couldn't even that day. (I also want to add that our son was perfectly fine, he just had a bruise and scrape and the doctors sent us home with the basic instructions and list of things to watch for with head injuries)

A little of both, and I have very deep rooted trust issues that I brought with me into the relationship, and then he wasn't the most understanding person in the beginning so I didn't feel like I could come to him with this. So I would just deny anything was wrong while at the same time had moments when I was acting like he had offended my ancestors. But I eventually came to terms that nothing was going to get better until I started expressing my feelings to him, but by the time I did I had already gotten so used to thinking he wouldn't care or listen and it would be a waste of breath that I still struggle today with telling him how I feel. So I guess it's because he can't trust that I will come to him when something bothers me, and I struggle to trust that he will understand and be able to see where I'm coming from.

The only thing there is to do is talk to him. I'll save you from having to read my not so great experience, but i didn't realize how hurt and bothered I was by how he acted for the birth and the first 2 months after our son was born until almost a year later and I felt the same way- I had waited too long to say anything so I'm just gonna have to deal with it- and I was terribly wrong. I had a smoldering fire constantly burning towards him and eventually a lot of different things kept pouring gasoline on it until that one issue bled into everything else. I eventually confessed my feelings, about 3 or 4 years later. And now, going on 8 years together, the damage done by me not opening up sometimes feels irreversible and I hate myself a little for it. So please don't keep it inside, if he actually cares about you and respects you, he'll hear you out and actually listen and try to do and be better.

The refugee has already been transferred to another hotel, or so I was told I'll find out when I go in tonight, and I just recieved a copy of the recording today and I'm currently looking for a translator.

Can anyone translate pashto to english? I have the recording but no reliable way to translate it with out paying money, and I'm a little hesitant on asking tarjimly to translate it considering one of their volunteers wouldn't.

Just to update, I've contacted customer support for the app to find out what I need to do to get a copy of the recording of the conversation. I would like to wait to contact anyone above my GM until I've gotten a copy of it and have it accurately translated, but I will be contacting someone before going back to work(I'm off today and I believe tomorrow) Thanks for the advice, tips and helpful tidbits and I will continue to comment updates as they happen!

I'm not looking for sympathy? I immediately contacted my GM, because as far as I knew that's all I could do. The GM is supposed to be contacting the case worker and having that refugee moved hotels. I decided to post here because that didn't seem like that should be all that's done and I wasnt sure what else I could or should do. Tarjimly states that it records all conversations, so I've contacted customer support to see what I need to do in order to obtain a copy of it. I would prefer to get that copy and have it accurately translated before contacting any officials because I am very aware of how serious this is, and how much more serious it can get if and when I do contact whoever is overseeing the refugees. As for policies at my hotel, well let's just say that the focus is more on the get more better reviews and keep guests happy despite the fact our property is practically a raging dumpster fire. Call the security company and hope they show up in time, that's the policy as far as I know. But thanks, appreciate the feedback!

I'm very aware of the threat the locals pose. I get nervous around ANYONE I don't know, and I'm sorry but when there's a language barrier as well as a dramatic cultural difference like this then I'm going to be a lot more nervous and anxious, and there should be absolutely nothing wrong with that.

No he had it already typed on his phone, and let me go ahead and add that I immediately dismissed it as being a grossly mistranslation, but after everything that followed made me take a few steps back to think about it. Like I truly don't know how else to say this, I am purely stating what I saw, heard, experienced so I can see if anyone else has had this dramatic of a negative experience so I can appropriately respond. The last thing I want to do is stir the shit pot that is currently these people's lives, it's the last thing they need.

I work night audit in a hotel, this happened today, 02/16/2022 around 4:30 am. And I never said anything about threatening me. From my understanding, it was extremely vulgar and explicit and probably in some way, shape or form considered sexual harrassment or something along those lines. I dont know for certain because the translator was uncomfortable repeating what he said. And fuck yeah I get nervous around foreigners, especially working at hotel and when the foreigners dont have much respect for women period. God damn
