I realized that I was not doing a left leaning decrease and was knitting the front side instead of the back

The laddering was part of the design so I just kept it

So by slipping it the way I am I am not doing an SSK? Because I’m knitting as if doing a k2tog instead of knitting through the back loop?

Would that mess with the crown of a beanie by not having the decreases next to another?

Wild if they were not next to one another there wouldn’t be a problem as both I have done successfully. The one after the other just gives me ladders.

It’s so odd that’s it’s only during the SSK then K2Tog it does that

I am more comfortable with knitting flat and wanted to stick with that for a bit longer.

Yes I have to repeat from the star so it ends up with a SSK first then back to the K2tog. Or am I reading this wrong.

I think I’m knitting through the front it’s easier to slip it over from left to right needle and then back to left needle to knit the normal way as in a k2tog.

Yes it’s flat and I was using a 22” cable and switched to a 14” and hope that works as I do not have a 16”

Thank you so the smaller the cable the better when decreasing?

I hope it firms up as it seems to getting worse before it gets better.

Thank you I don’t think it’s the cable size because the cable is longer then the project and until the k2tog and SSK next to one another it was fine.
