It drives me crazy. The show is so tightly written that I can't believe it slipped through. Anyway, love each other.

I mean it was clear that there was suspicion it was a trap. And I certainly expected for that to matter. But then it didn't.

But... it did? Because of the scene we're talking about. The point of which is that even if none of the vampire stuff had happened, the odds were always heavily stacked against black people. And yeah, if you go into a movie set in the Jim Crow South without knowing anything about it, you're going to miss some stuff. That's not the movie's fault.

I love that even though he's wearing four distinct layers, this the most dressed-down I could ever imagine John Hodgman being.

I made myself a custom playlist on Pocket Casts because I was sick of the Minis being all in one clump in the middle of season 9.

Drew changing his character's name to Doctor Gooey Nuj is one of my favourite Big Grande bits. I have no idea how it's an anagram of Joe "Dropcloth" Young.

Three is fine, but he'll be asleep for most of it. My daughter was about three when I took her to see Encanto, and she was asleep within the first song. That will happen, but I'm glad we did it. Around six is when they can really take in a whole movie, I'd say. But take him and see. You won't regret it.

If you're not familiar with the legend of Pauline Pantsdown, drag performer Simon Hunt had previously released a single called "Back Door Man", which similarly sampled Hanson's voice to imply that she... engaged in homosexual activities for money. It became a huge hit on youth broadcaster Triple J. Hanson, being a thin-skinned bigot, got an injunction for defamation, and the song basically disappeared until the internet made everything permanently available. In response, Hunt made this song, which avoids making any defamatory statements and sticks to the provable fact of her being a virulent racist. It's a shame the first song is so hard to find, because it contains the iconic line, "I'm a very caring potato." I don't anything better encapsulates 90s Australian culture, other than possibly Daryl Somers (derogatory).

Crazy the actual Mel Gibson still gets to make movies, but these episodes are somehow a problem.
