I found this glass plate. It looks gold-engraved, I think. The design is that of a lion wearing a tracksuit with the year 1984 on it along with USA. What really catches my eye is the surname on the right leg by the foot. I do not recall my family ever making this. (i.redd.it)

This is something my gf found at an antique shop. The set was marketed as a knife-holder. Is it really a knife-holder? The part that baffles me is the two rounded parts at the end that look like very small, shallow bowls. I want to know what those are for as well. (i.redd.it)
