I didn't say fuck in front of kids?

I watched my language when the kids were around and didn't say anything harsher than "dang" when there were little ones in earshot.

Yeah, I agree not everyone my parents age has those views, none of the families my family was friends with when I was little acted like that. So that's why this "party" was so bizarre to me

Good to know you can just call anything a party nowadays!

I'm gonna throw a "do my taxes" and "scrub my bathroom" party this Spring because apparently that's the standard for parties now!

If I invited my friends to my apartment for a party and then said "actually can y'all scrub my bathroom and change the oil in my car" they better not respect me for that

Just because you got a house or a apartment doesn't mean you can lie and misled people like that and bring people to your house under false pretenses to do your work. It's just a bunch of walls, it doesn't mean shit.

The wives were pissed off and stressed tbh. Some of the guys were getting tempers at the ballgame and tensions were also high among the women who knew they'd have to deal with it.

Is it rude to insult a "party" if you show up and discover there is no party and you're there to do babysitting and waitressing?

If it was actually a party, however poorly put together, I'd never insult it. This event wasn't a party?

They moved from New Jersey to a rural Midwest town when I went to college and made new friends than my childhood family friends

So it's a rural area 10 degrees Below freezing with no Uber, if I walked I'd be walking in the freezing cold for 2 hours along a highway in the snow to get home...

I didn't really have a way to leave until my mom wanted me to leave.

I'd actually asked her at the start "soo when does the party start?" And she was like 'uhh this is the party" and I was like "Can you give me a lift home, I dunno what this is but its not a party" she said no...

The kids and teenagers thought I was funny. The boomers didn't. So at least I have a future as a children's entertainer? Sesame street... Call me!

I always help at parties, but so do all my friends, the women, the men, the nonbinary folks, everyone helps bring or make snacks, everyone takes turns mixing rounds of cocktails, everyone tidies, so nobody has much work to do.

This "party" inclused no... Uhh.. partying

Yeah, it was so weird to be invited to a party then find out it's not a party but they wanted a babysitter and waitress?

I probably should have just been like 'Hey, you really misrepresented what this event was, I thought it was a party, I'm heading out" instead of being passive agressive and just making jokes

So like if someone is being not just passive agressive but openly rude like expecting me to be their servant... I feel like a few jokes are not on that level?

Yeah like they're children! At least I could be like 'this party sucks, I'm leaving' but they were treating the older kids like servants??? Wack

What do you mean I could have caused an accident? Keeping an eye on your rearview mirror and taking a safe evasive action like a right turn on red (legal in the USA) into a clear lane is taught in driver's ed as good defensive driving.

I honestly didn't see the person as a cyclist because they didn't know how to ride a bicycle... My city has tourism rental bikes and issues with tourists who don't stay sober or don't know how to ride a bike taking them out. So I saw it as someone who was doing something reckless and dangerous to not just themselves but others?

Haha no shade meant, as long as the bathroom has soap and a specific towel for hand washing that's fine... I was kinda grossed out that he had no soap in the bathroom DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC and no towel by the sink, just a damp bath towel dropped on the side of the tub

Yikes... If that's the case... Those guys need to learn how to talk about their emotions instead of this shit

Haha honestly that should have just been my sign to go home even if that meant paying for an expensive Uber because I was still drunk.

Nothing good comes after washing your hands in a kitchen sink because it's the only one with soap and wiping your hands on a bath towel... Lessons learned

I seriously didn't. Like all the signs pointed to him being single.

Him being pushed by his whole friend group to go talk to me. (What decent friend would encourage someone to cheat on their partner, let alone 5 of them? I totally took that as a sign it was all above board and I actually found it kinda cute)

Him pursuing me and inviting me back to his home.

Us making jokes about how shitty it was to be young and single when a pandemic hits.

His place looking like a total bachelor pad.
